5 out of 5 eggs9 years

Pros: i purchased this unit back in 2004. It still works perfectly. Some 2 years ago capacitors went bad. I put a few new ones in (~10) and it's going strong as before.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Monitors

Pros: Bright screen, widescreen, wonderful default resolution, no ghosting, very fast refresh, very lightweight, has DVI and VGA/D-Sub ports. Comes with DVI cable, audio cable, and power cord!

Cons: Speakers aren't that great, as expected.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of them, just one of them had one dead pixel. I have completely enjoyed these so much that I plan on buying a few more to expand my desktop monitorage.

Honestly one of the best LCD monitors you can get at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for amateur photography

Pros: This monitor has worked at top capacity since day one. I am an avid amateur photographer and the viewing of my photos is important to me. My daugther is a digital enhancement artist for a local photographer and she loves this monitor as well.

Cons: haven't found any yet.

Other Thoughts: Great price for an excellent quality product.

4 out of 5 eggscheap

Pros: good for the price, bleeding is expected, good warranty.

Cons: not the highest quality lcd, maxes out at 1440x900

Other Thoughts: "That stupid blue box that pops up all the time is seriously annoying and there is no way to shut it off. Your best bet to change the settings so it's transparent, but even then it's still visible."

If you would read the annoying blue box it says "hit 1 to disable" therefore HIT 1, it's not on your keyboard, it's on the LCD - the far left button.

I love the reviews from people that have no clue about technology.

5 out of 5 eggsI read merv's review and have high hopes

Pros: Resolution is outstanding. Twice as good as my other Viewsonic. A 19" VG900b. And I thought that was a good monitor.

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: As it says in the title, I read merv's review and I sure hope it is limited to his monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good monitor

Pros: No dead pixels. Very clear/bright screen. Color looks very, very good. Very well constructed, and has taken a beating (un intentionally) without any ill effects. I noticed zero ghosting while gaming, this, and the box mine came in says 8ms responce time. While some may complain about how these monitors may have less realistate than a standard monitor, I actually like the extra width, especially while using Photoshop CS, or the occational Programming IDE.

Cons: While playing some games, I notice some screen lag. It is not really bad, but it is noticable, and takes time to get used to. Also while gaming, since the native resolution is 1440x900, you will need a good card to keep up for most current titles (probably along the lines of a 7900GTX or better. That being said, I use a 7600GT to play most current titles which includes Titan Quest, FEAR, Oblivion, etc, and it is not terrible performance, just not spectacular.

Other Thoughts: I have owned this monitor for close to two years now, and I love it. The professional grade 21" CRT it replaced pales by comparrison(as far as clarity/colors go). Granted the CRT was on its last legs, and was getting dark. The 'takes a beating' part I mentioned above, had to do with my monitor comming off my desk, un expectadly, and slamming LCD first into my knee, and suffering ZERO pressure marks ! I must say I was completely surprised, and at the same time, very impressed. However, I would not care to repeat this experience.

ANyhow, I am writting this review, because of one of the previous reviewers claiming that msot people write reviews after a few weeks/months, and give nothing but glowing reviews, so here is a close to two year old monitor doing its job still, and doing it like it was right out of the box.

If it were not for the newer, higher contrast ratio, larger viewing area monitors comming out, and becomming cheaper every day, I would not hesitate on buying another o

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Buy!

Pros: Great Monitor, very nice quality and no dead pixels. I just ordered a 23" for my new main monitor but i will use this as addition to my set up definitely worth the money and no problems with it.

Cons: Only cons i could find were the speakers were not very great but they were just added feature for this monitor to me cause i bought it for picture not sound.Only other issue i could find with the screen is the stand is a little rough to work with especially if your tall it does not have a lot of adjustment abilities.

Other Thoughts: Overall great monitor would buy again if i needed another monitor in this size

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great monitor for video editing. I have it hooked up to a HP XW4300 with an Avid composer editing system and it works perfect. In fact I am going to buy a second one for the fx1500 car. From a professional editor's standpoint this is much better than the Mags that cost three times as much plus it looks cool in my edit bay-chicks dig it!!!

Cons: none
