Great for gaming but..
- Pros: Not much I can say that hasn't already been repeated throughout all the previous reviews. For gaming, this LCD is awesome. As an average computer user and gamer the colors are very nice, bright, and vibrant. No ghosting, everything just seems very nice and crisp. No height adjustment, not a big problem.
- Cons: I'm surprised that I may be one of the few to say this but the the viewing angles of this monitor are pretty bad. Now I don't have a ton of experience with LCD's except this one, the LCD's I deal with at work, with friends, and what I see at the stores but this LCD really does have pretty bad viewing angles. (Especially for the price paid, would want to give a 3-4 out of 5 egg rating) The colors will definitely distort past a small angle any direction from directly in front of the screen. I've compared mine to others of the same model and seen same to similar results. It harder to see the color distortion in a brightly lit room but very noticable in a dark room (like when watching a movie) For example the color white at a certain angle, the hue turns to a yellow/orangish white rather than staying a nice constant white.
- Other Thoughts: I don't want to mislead anyone with this review into thinking this monitor isn't great but more or less just want to warn people that I feel this LCD does have its faults. So for gamers that want a quality LCD I say go for it but for those that may use their monitors for watching movies or in similar situations where you or other people may not be situated directly in front of the screen, I wouldn't recommend this monitor. (I use dvi inputs, nvidia 6 series video card, using latest drivers, but I haven't run through any color adjustment/correcting programs)
I hope this helps.
Just
- Comments: I have been VERY sceptical about getting into LCD's mainly because of ghosting. I stumbled apon this one turkey week in the states; I tryed to find reviews on it but since it had a street date of Dec 1 and a xxx$ price tag, I was unable to find anything about it. I checked out ViewSonic's website and it claimed to eliminate any type of ghosting. Any gamer knows ghosting is possibly the worse experience you can think of; playing BF2 Special Forces / CS: Source / World of warcraft, and seeing after images of people jumping around or zooming through is a down right a poopy experience. So with a price tag of xxx$ I made it my early xmas present crossing my fingers it wouldn't come with any burned pixels; or even worse ghosting.
I 2nd-day it through UPS and it arrived 4 days later because of Turkey day. Let me tell you, the monitor is absolutly AWESOME, the grey/black matches my mouse/keyboard/case and the image is absolutly brilliant (even at 50% brightness). Better yet NO GHOSTING OR DEAD PIXELS!! I tryed everything to produce a ghost image in all games(BF2,CSS,WoW), jumping, looking at arty hit dozens of targets, putting max sensitivity and moving the mouse randomly everywhere.
If your a gamer and your looking for that "special" LCD, and you can't wait 2years for next gen LCD's this is the one.

Good monitor, poor customer service
- Pros: The monitor is crisp, clean, arrived without any dead pixels, doesn't ghost and achieves pretty much everything you'd want from a monitor in at a fir price.
- Cons: The stand does not offer any adjustable height, just tilt. Prone to failure after 6-12 months where the screen blanks out, LED blinks green every second or so, and takes about 5 minutes to restore video. ViewSonic customer service has horrible replacement polices. The first time it must go in for repair, which will take 10-14 business days, with no replacement monitor.
- Other Thoughts: While I do like the monitor, I will never buy from ViewSonic again. Their policies are terrible, their customer support bordering on rude, and would not come to an acceptable solution.
Great for all...except RTS
- Pros: -bright
-one of the lowest response times around -very crisp -no dead pixels -viewsonic quality -nice to look at -great for most games -viewing angle
- Cons: -not fast enough response time for RTS (real time strategy) games for my liking
- Other Thoughts: This is my first LCD Monitor and overall I'm pretty impressed. I play a variety of games, RTS being my favorite. Unfortunately, not even this monitor's great response time is fast enough for enjoyable blur-free gaming with games such as Rise of Nations. It's not horrible blur, but I'd much rather use a CRT for those kinds of games. But I guess if you compare the performance to other LCDs, this monitor is certainly top-notch. If you don't play RTS games like I do, I wouldn't waste another minute without this monitor.
Amazing LCD Monitor
- Pros: This is my first LCD monitor, which I switched to from a 19" CRT about 9 months ago, and wow, what a difference! Everything seems so much clearer and sharper. Seeing as how I never used an LCD monitor with a higher response time (for gaming), all I can say is I do not notice any sign of ghosting. It's like using my CRT, expect much better (and lighter/smaller). Also, this is by far one of the best/most stylish looking monitors around!
- Cons: The only con I could think of is that the backlight is a little bright for dark games, but still easily enjoyable. Also, the backlight bleeds a little on the top and bottom when looking at a completely black image. The default brightness was also a little much, had to turn it down a bit.
