HP works hard to maintain their expertise in all aspects of computer technology, and their monitors are no exception. The L1506 15" dynamo is just another example. An outstanding 1024 x 768 resolution lets a relatively small screen show all the detail you might want.

Displaying over 16 million colors, and an excellent 450:1 contrast ratio, every minute shade and slight detail will be shown in lifelike reality. The 250 cd/m2 brightness makes its image enjoyable in nearly any environment. With all of this, its price is exceptional. Remember, the L1506 isn't just a monitor, it's an HP.

  • newegg Performance The 15" HP L1506 features a 16ms response time for smooth video transition, and a high 450:1 contrast ratio and 250cd/m2 brightness for rich colors.
  • newegg Tilt Adjustable Stand The HP L1506 features an ergonomic tilt adjustable stand for enhanced user comfort and flexibility in use.

2 out of 5 eggsExpected better

Pros: Ideal size for our particular application. Good resolution, no dead pixles, reasonably priced.

Cons: We have purchased 6 L1506's durng the past 12 months & two have been defective. One of the 6 was DOA. It was 2 months before we reeived a replacement unit from Newegg. The second failure was this past week, not quite a year from purchase date. Currently working with HP for warrantee replacement.

2 out of 5 eggsLook bigger

Pros: It is a reliable monitor. I have had one similar for a few years, and no problems at all. Works if you dont' have a lot of space.

Cons: Its outdated. It is slow, low contrast and small compared to other monitors. You can easily get a reliable 19inch monitor with way better specs for the same costs.

Other Thoughts: Great about 5 years ago. It is outdated, but LCD screens have a price that can not be dropped. It takes so much money to make the electronics in a screen weither 15 inch or 24 inch. 15 inch doesn't make sense anymore. Get a 19 inch widescreen and crop it for everything except movies and you be better off with every other spec. Look elsewhere, this monitor is well beyond its time.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Beautiful and works absolutely fine.

Cons: One dead pixel from the start but after using it for over a year, there seems to be some stress on the screen. On the left side of the monitor, there seems to be somewhat of a peeling of the screen and what's behind it, or maybe it might be the fading of pixels or something. It isn't very noticeable when white is being shown behind the area affected, but when there are pastel colors like tan or orange, it is quite evident. It doesn't bother me very much as it is on the left side of the screen but if this peeling continues into the middle of the screen, it may become an issue.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor

Pros: Good price, good image.
No bad pixels.

Cons: vga only but for my intended use that's not an issue.

Other Thoughts: The only thing I noticed with this monitor is that the blue is very sensitive to vertical on screen viewing angle. Only noticable on large areas of blue.

5 out of 5 eggsGood all around monitor

Pros: Good looking, basic functionality monitor, for a great price. And you get a "real" brand name in HP. For general business use, it's a good buy.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, but...

Pros: Name brand hp monitor. No dead pixels. Monitor works. Nice black color and solid stand.

Cons: Only 16.2 million colors. The half a million extra colors in 16.7 million in other monitors makes a big difference. Even with the rebates, the monitor was a bit over priced for what one can get with an off brand that has these tech specs and better.
