4 out of 5 eggsHaven't had a problem

Pros: Haven't had a problem. Easy to understand LEDs.

Cons: Rebate took some haggling.

Other Thoughts: After dealing with Charter's customer service and getting the MAC address updated, this unit has worked great. I have had several dropped connections, but I blame Charter and not the modem as it was dropping connections with Charter's rent-a-modem as well. The rebate took a little work because the first time I sent it in, they rejected it saying I did not include the original UPC off the box. After a short letter and pictures of the UPC missing out of the box, they sent me my rebate. Other than that little snag, haven't had a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking well so far

Pros: So far this modem hasn't given me any trouble.

Cons: The print of the MAC adress is a little difficult to distinguish. Be careful, especially 8's and B's are almost identical.

Other Thoughts: In the past 2 years I have gone through 4 Surfboard modems. Three ending in complete failure. Manufacturer never honored their warranty. It just goes to show, don't buy bargain bin item hardware. Do yourself a favor and buy quality. I've had 3 Linksys routers on constantly for about 3 years with not even a hicup.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not honor rebate

Pros: Works at Comcast speed. It's been working for the three months I've had it. Stacks with my Linksys router & has the power brick in the middle of the power cord. Exactly the same speed as my old Moto cable mdm. If you don't have a modem and don't care about rebate, this might be an ok alternative to Moto.

Cons: Linksys did not honor the twenty buck rebate. No rebate makes this a bad deal. The Linksys web interface is not as good as Moto: there's no restart button and less detail in the log. When I need a reset I have to go to the closet and pull the power plug. Since I already had a working router, the only good thing about this one is that it stacks with the router. Whooptydoo.

Other Thoughts: Coulda' shoulda', stuck with my Moto. I don't feel so brilliant that I paid sixtytwo for a mdm that's almost equal to the Moto it replaced. Having foolishly overspent, I'm gonna run it till the bits fall out as an ongoing reminded that Linksys does not honor rebates.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Modem/Bad Business

Pros: Well to be honest I have never had a cable modem not work out of every brand I tried. After updating the firmware this unit has been mostly painless. Most of the dropouts I can with fair certainty attribute to the cable company and not the modem.

Cons: I have seen others mention this as well. But when I bought this unit it came with a rebate. THey rejected it. Even with supporting documentation they still rejected it. Because of that I will never buy another Linksys product.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks. Unfortunately this wasn't a newegg rebate but a Linksys rebate or Newegg would have taken care of it.

3 out of 5 eggsDon't count on a rebate

Pros: Easy to setup
Works almost flawlessly with Cox Communications high speed internet
Affordable
Integrates well with other Linksys products

Cons: They rejected my rebate

Other Thoughts: I was having problems with my Motorola SurfBoard cable modem again (I've gone through 2 already) and wanted to try a different brand. To my satisfaction, this cable modem worked flawlessly out of the box with my Cox high speed internet. I called them up, gave them the MAC address and was online within 10 minutes. I said "almost flawlessly" in my pros because I did have one outage where I had to disconnect the power and reboot the modem to receive a signal, but I had to do that every other day with my SuftBoard.

The reason I only gave this product an average rating is because they refused to honor my mail in rebate! They said they didn't receive the UPC code with my submission, but the fact that they got the rebate form means that someone probably lost it before it was entered into the system. Even after calling their rebate center they refused to honor my rebate. I hate rebates!

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Good

Pros: Upgraded to this modem to receive power boost. Spent 1 minute on phone with tech to add MAC address. Download provision jumped to 17600kbps and upload of 2000kbps. Boosts as high as 23MB Excellent speeds. Never had lockups. Working exactly the way I hoped.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Version 4 model is required for power boost to work. You can view your provision rates on the modem status page. Definitely recommended if you are looking to upgrade.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Works great, boosted my speed up to max out at 10mbps on Road Runner. Uploads average at 1-2mbps all day long.

Cons: Gets a little hot but has never locked up on me in two years.

Other Thoughts: I did have to call RR tech support to get them to register my MAC address on their network. Once I did so it worked great. Also since I use my own modem for internet, the modem for my phone acts as another cable modem altogether, so we now have two data lines coming in.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product WIsh i could of used it right after i bought it

Pros: Linksys Modem better then my Motorola WiFi Surfboard Modem. Faster for sure

Cons: None thats Linksys fought but for my ISP thats another story. It took them about 5 days 1 hour and about 40 mins before they had my modem fully activated and provisioned. Time Warner really failed me again. Wish Ohio had Comcast or any other good cable company. Stupid Monopoly. Bad Service, Long Wait Time, Transfered Countless Times before they realized every thing they needed to do.

Other Thoughts: Finally the Internet.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor product

Pros: Newegg customer service has been outstanding through all of this. It has stuck with us and we appreciate the eggcellent service

Cons: This Linksys modem could not be connected to our ISP. Even after a second modem was sent by Newegg and a communication between Linksys customer support and our ISP technician, nothing could be done. I subsequently connected a Motorola modem, and It connected immediately. No problems at all.

Other Thoughts: Everything about Newegg from their customer support, to their online staff have been excellent. We will be a long time customer.
