Pros: These are definitely the best headphones I've ever used. I always listen to music with headphones (in-ear, over-ear, etc.) and these headphones help you discover sound cues you've never heard before. Whether it's the cowbell in BOC's "Don't Fear the Reaper" or the hmmmms from the acoustic in Zeppelin's "Going to California," these headphones broke new ground for me. Even distortion sounds better in music from The Stooges. Incredible headphones, and I'd recommend them to ANYONE, regardless of your price range. You'll be happy you spent the extra cash.
Cons: Um... you look like a dork wearing them in class, down the halls in college, in the weight room, at the mall... Everywhere. It's hard to look cool and wear these, I'll be honest. But don't mind the looks they give; they don't know what they're missing.
Oh, and the 64ohm resistance definitely kills battery life. My 14 hours of music from my Vision becomes about 10 with these.

Pros: Accurate sound across the entire spectrum; durable and comfortable; bargain price; up to 32 dB of noise attenuation (depending upon the frequency of the incoming sound); and once again, the accuracy of the sound is incredible.
Cons: Developed a crack on the outer headband wall (I believe this occured when I tried to fold them up without fully extending the headphones first - the manual tells you to do this, but who really reads manuals anymore?). The crack is minor and does not alter the sound quality at all.
Other Thoughts: I've always been an audiophile, ever since I can remember. Music and accurate reproduction of it are incredibly important to me, so when I got these headphones I was just ecstatic. To be able to listen to everything from Chopin and Mahler to Emperor and Katatonia with one headphone set under one setting is really just wonderful. You really pick up every little nuance in the music - things you would have never heard otherwise. These headphones gives listeners a greater appreciation for the talent that musicians have to offer. Symphonies, piano pieces, and metal without speaker distortion - a wonderful thing, to say the least.

Pros: Deep bass and crisp treble. Very comfortable (tight, which I like). Durable, solid construction. Frequently on sale. Closed, circum-aural.
Cons: Coiled cord. I really wish these had a straight cord.
Other Thoughts: These headphones don't sound great out of the box, but after about 36 hours of use, they really start to shine. They sound better and better each time you use them.
I've had my HD280 Silver since 2006. I've beaten them up quite a bit (the plastic headband cracks when you have a huge head like mine). I'm getting ready to buy a new set of phones and will most likely get HD280's again.

Pros: Awesome headphones. Even for the price that might scare you away, you get what you pay for. Sound is like no other head set unless you go for a pair of ridiculously priced ones.
Cons: They really are big, but I don't mind sense I mainly use them indoors for music or games.
Other Thoughts: I bought these on 11/23/2008 (copy paste date from my invoice) directly from newegg. I have abused them dropped them and use them appx 5 hrs each week since the purchase date and they still work as well as when I first bought them. I'm glad they are still selling these wonderful headphones. Used them many time on an airplane and the sound is wonderful even over the roar of the aircraft.
