5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent functionality. I use this in nearly every application i run from Firefox, to word processors, to MMOs. It has the ability to automatically change button configuration profiles for whatever application you currently have in use. There are plenty of buttons and the programmability of the macros is nice.

Cons: The biggest beef I have with this is the fact that its not perfectly ergonomic. Although it does feel nice generally speaking, sometimes its hard to hit the buttons with your pinky. Also the D-pad is just in the wrong spot. I have gotten used to it, and it is still definatly usable, but it cramps my hand up if im playing a game like a fps where i need to constantly be on the d-pad and sometimes use the keys as well. Everyone who says the orange button is difficult to press isn't lieing, but it is still usable.

Other Thoughts: Although I say that it is not PERFECTLY ergonomic, that doesn't mean that is completely uncomfortable to use. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone gamer and non gamer alike.

5 out of 5 eggs>.< discontinued!!!!!

Pros: After a week or 2 of getting used to it, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it

Cons: I am seriously gimped at the moment because after 3 solid years of amazing gameplay with it, it finally stopped working. I Went to go buy a replacement.... discontinued , and/or out of stock.....
If you never had one you truly missed out on amazing piece of gear.

Other Thoughts: Belkin released a N52TE (tournament edition) made in partnership with Razer.. before i bought the "upgrade" i went and had a look at the forums on belkin's website for it and people are NOT pleased.. apparently some sort of software issue on Razer's end of the deal. I suppose ill be buying the TE, but if its as buggy as they say .. i truly weep for the end of an era.

4 out of 5 eggsMy Mmo must have

Pros: If set up right, this thing gives me split second access to over 30 skills in WoW. I just sit it on my lap for comfort. I can't think I would ever not use it.

Cons: after roughly a year of use, this thing suddenly stopped being recognized by my computer. I tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times but it still refuses to work. This makes me very disappointed since I really rely on this thing to be good in WoW. Now I feel all... gimped.

Other Thoughts: None the less, this thing served me well. My setup involved setting the middle 9 keys to the skills, 6 and 11 keys to ctrl and shift for toggling the skill keys and just controlled my character with the d-pad while using 5 for jump and 1 for attack. Was very effective.

4 out of 5 eggsCool, but ultimately collects dust

Pros: It is very cool and can function like a keyboard so it even works with older games.

Cons: Needs a weight and more rubber to keep it on the desk. Also did not motivate me like I thought it would to actualyl PLAY games rather than collect them.

Other Thoughts: Great device and if I ever start playing I will learn how to use it.

5 out of 5 eggssweeeeet

Pros: every single key can be reprogrammed. great software. great drivers. easy to use, software knows which game your playing and switches your key profiles for you.

Cons: rubber thingys on the button come off to easy. nothing super glue cant fix.

Other Thoughts: ever wish you could use your keyboard for misc commands that you rarely use and have a main controller for your primary attacks? this thing is what you want. tip for mmo players. reprogram your attack keys around WASD. it takes some getting used to. then program one of the dpad directions to say ctrl or alt. suddenly you just doubled the capacity of keybinds on it =).

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming pad

Pros: I bought mine on sale for $20, But it's still a great buy for $30. Software that comes with it simplifies key maping, macros help as well. Multiple profiles for diffrent games.

Cons: -Keys are a bit hard to push down
-Adjustable palm rest only has 2 settings
-Mouse wheel has to much resistance
-No lighting, if you need it, but I have no problems becuase I know where everything's at.

Other Thoughts: I use it only for COD4, I've tried playing WOW on it but there isn't enough keys to bind everthing I use.

5 out of 5 eggsTakes gaming to the next level!

Pros: Customization, customization, customization! Every key, all 8 positions on the D-pad, and even the scroll wheel up, down and center click can be programmed to any combinations of key strokes and/or macros. I keep finding new ways to use this in place of my keyboard for gaming. I bought mine when it first came out, and it made a huge difference in my Counter Strike performance. It's a lot friendlier to the left hand than a keyboard.

Cons: The configuration editor is a little cumbersome to use. There's no way to switch a mode profile to a different mode without having to redo the entire thing by hand. The D-pad orientation is a little confusing when programming it, however the editor makes up for this by highlighting what button you're pressing (just remember, what you think is up is actually left).

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for on-the-fly macro programming, you're not going to get it with the n52. I found that the Logitech G15 gaming keyboard (with its 18 programmable keys) allows for smooth on-the-fly macros. When you team the n52 up with the G15, and the Logitech G5 gaming mouse, you'll create the most lethal combination of gaming devices known to man.

CS:Source (FPS) - n52 with G5, buying options set into G15
Ragnarok Online (MMORPG) - n52 mapped to keyboard for battle mode play, with G15 keys also mapped. Let's me change between 4 accounts and play the same class (Priest / High Priest) with insane efficiency.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing

Pros: This device is great for all types of games. FPS, RTS, RPG, MMO, basically any game that requires keyboard input. The software is easy to use and the loadout manager can be set to automatically detect what game you are playing and load your customized settings for that game. The macro programming capabilities are very nice, anyone who does crafting in MMO's will REALLY appreciate this.

Cons: The space bar requires that you push down on the center of the bar for it to work. The thumb button above the directional pad is also difficult to push.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, mostly

Pros: No more cramps from using a keyboard!!
Programmable.
Good Construction, great layout.

Cons: As others have said, the "alt" button above the D-pad is extremely hard to press witout bracing the gamepad.

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for 4 years and haven't experienced any of the malfunctions others have posted. The labels on the buttons are worn out, but that's it. I love this pad and reccommend it to anyone that games.

Perhaps later batches of these are manufactured more shoddily, but mine has worked like a champ. Now I own the N52te model and my son uses my old N52.
