So far no good...
- Pros: SATA.
- Cons: Would read both CD's and DVD's but would not write either. Tried several types of media with same result. RMA'd it and got a replacement, but the new one does the same thing. Spend over an hour on the phone with Lite-On and they conclude its a failed drive, so I RMA'd it again...Newegg is sending me another one (Fingers crossed...)
- Other Thoughts: I have had good luck with Lite-On in the past, but this drive has been a nightmare.
- Pros: Installed without a hitch. It's serial ATA, so configuration is brainless. It's priced right.
- Cons: The tray motor struggles. It gives the impression that it won't last very long.
- Other Thoughts: I hope it lasts.
Very quiet, great performance
- Pros: Very quiet, low vibration, very fast burning and reading
- Cons: Nothing outstanding
- Other Thoughts: I was looking for a quiet and solid DVD burner and this seemed to be the ticket. I bought two for my system and they have performed flawlessly. I use Verbaitim Data-Life+ inkjet printable DVD+Rs and Tayo-Yuden inkjet printable CD-Rs. I have had no issues with media.
