Ok so far
- Pros: Fast, worked right out of the box. Good for its price.
- Cons: Can get very loud at times, the plastic on the outside actually vibrates and makes it louder.
- Other Thoughts: Purchased 2 of these, should have purchased one to see if I liked before getting two, so far its had no problems so I still recommend it.
solid sata but loud(er)
- Pros: It's cheap. It works. It's SATA.
- Cons: When it's high RPM, it sounds like a hairdryer (maybe 1/3 the volume though). Watching DVDs is low RPM, so it doesn't bother me.
- Other Thoughts: When I'm reading/writing Data DVDs, who cares how loud it is? (Unless your computer is in the same room as your sleeping roommate...)
Good but...
- Pros: Works Great. Lite-On is a brand you can trust.
- Cons: Wow, this thing is LOUD. I've owned LITE-ON optical drives n the past, and never were any of them this loud.
- Other Thoughts: The only reason this got 4 eggs is becuase of the noise level... I mean it really is loud, if I known that I might have gone for a different model
