LiteOn's new SuperAllWrite drive LH-20A1P-184 gives you the choice of watching DVD movies or recording them. The ability to use all standard CD and DVD media formats lets you choose the media based on the task.

This multi-format DVD burner uses the popular IDE interface for maximum system compatibility. This lets you upgrade an older system or build it into a new one.

With write speeds of up to 20X for writable DVD±R media and 48X for CD-R media this drive makes short work of any task you give it. SmartBurn technology avoids buffer underrun errors, automatically adjusting the writing strategy and running OPC to provide the clean burns and greatly reduce the number of wasted discs.

Good adaptive burning if it works

Pros: Good adaptive burns as it learns the media. Averaging < 50 PIFs, max 3 on TYG02 after a few discs. (Manufactured early 2007 but still had F/W: KL02)

Cons: One of two drives (F/W: KL05) stopped reading any disc after writing 6 of 10 TYG02s successfully.

Other Thoughts: LiteOn does seem to have the hit or miss quality control I've read about elsewhere. They also produce high quality burns if they work.

Pros: Good Burner, Makes perfect dvds, very fast with cd-r and fast enough for me on dvd-r.

Cons: The motor is almost completely gone on it already. I push the button for it to open and it gets stuck. Then when it finally gets past that the drive pushes out really slow and makes noise like it is having a problem.... im dissappointed because i have to buy another one... :(

Other Thoughts: Good burner, but the price reflects the quality i guess

Pros: Excellent drive. Does DVD-RAM, DVD DL, DVD RW, DVDs, CD RW, and CD R. I think that's the list. Does them all without a hitch.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I heard that LITE-ON was only going to make OEM drives from now on. Man I hope not!

Pros: cheap in price

Cons: burns all media fine except dvd video all my dvd video burns turned out coasters

Other Thoughts: maybe its the media im using i dont know iam using verbatum media i even tryed the most recent firmware
