Perfect
- Pros: Works perfectly. No problems. I installed it and it was recognized and installed automatically. I used it right away and it burned a dl disc without any problems. It is very fast asnd stable. It works great.
- Cons: comes without a box.
- Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a DL burner, buy this. It is the best for the price
So far so good..
- Pros: Ive only owned this Drive for little over a month, however I'm on my 5th 50pack spindle and not a single coaster yet! I look out for ads and buy only media on sale so I've used several different brands with no problems.
Fast, reliable, and cheap!
- Cons: no problems so far, so no real cons .
- Other Thoughts: Ive only used DVD-R, CD-R, and CD-RW. What ever brand is on sale, havent tired anyother formats like +R or DL
OOPS - F/W Correction #2
- Pros: I have not seen any speed impact--negative or otherwise--from this drive's 2MB cache. My Plextor 716A had an 8MB cache but died just past its warranty period, so I ask you--what good is its buffer now? Thank goodness AMEX has a Buyer Protection policy!
- Cons: There are several, all of which are support-related, but none of which affect this drive's ability to perform flawlessly, quietly, and quickly. It just writes disks at a blazing pace. At its price, it's hard to think of anything to complain about (that I've experienced).
- Other Thoughts: Sorry for the multiple review entries. My last correction about firmware versions was in error. The latest firmware for THIS drive is JL11. The latest firmware for its identical Hitachi brother is JJ11. LL11 is for a Lightscribe version, not this model. My bad--next time I'll be more careful. See any of several online optical drive forums for reviews and more detail.
