5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Comments: Photo quality is as good, if not better then what you would get at winkflash.com.
I mainly print photos. I estimate that I can print atleast 50 8x10 sheets of photos before needing ink (I did a combination of 8x10s and 4x6s, so I don't know exactly how much I printed). AND, it only used the color inks. It didn't even touch the black ink.

I've been using the Costco Kirkland brand 4x6 photo paper with excellent results - and it only costs $xx for a 300 pack. I actually liked it better then the Kodak paper they sell at Costco.

I just used a refill kit to refill the ink cartridges - and, it was easy - drill a hole, fill with ink, plug it up, done). I'm calculating that it works out to 7 cents a picture print at home!!!! What a deal. (if I bought OEM Canon Ink, it would triple the cost to print photos).

I previously used an HP Photosmart 1000 series using 45 and 78 cartridges (I still have it). Basically, with rebate, getting the Canon was cheaper then buying the cartridges. The HP color cartridges are very difficult to refill- so I gave up.

Comments: prints full page color photo on normal papper in about 15 secs after it gets all warmed up. when you have a buch of pictures in que it's just one after another every 15 secs. this printer is very good at a very low price. it uses ink tubs so you can get cheap refills online. go to newegg for all of your computer needs, they're the best.

5 out of 5 eggsCanon pixma 3000

Comments: If you're looking to pick up a printer to do just that, then this is the only one for you.
This will do photos just fine, but since I was looking for a very fast printer I got this one. This thing is very solid has not let me done ever, and this is my second pixma 3000 one for work that I have used for over a year now and the second because my HX $300 printer broke down.HX wanted me to send it in then pay somewhere near $100 to get it fixed..LOL no way.
Get this printer it wont let you down, besides for the price how can you go wrong.

P.S.
The ink is so cheap makes any other printer look just plain ugly.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic printer

Comments: I cannont believe how good this printer is. I had always been afraid to buy an inkjet because of the supplies and the low print quality. I have always used laser printers only. I don't see any reason to complain about this printer. The consumables are long lasting and the quality is as good as you want it to be. I love the amount of control this printer affords me. I find myself printing only what really needs printing (as opposed to the laser that I didn't even think twice and ended up not even reading what I printed) which has simplified my life. Its slick as snot. I charge my powerbook on top of it. When you get a few packages of diverse types of papers, its like you have a kinko's or something right at home. I love the pay as you go and pay for only what you use quality about this printer. Don't be alarmed by the low price of this printer, it is TOTALLY not your inkhogging dispossable. I have yet to see a paper jam, or any technical difficulty for that matter. It has serioiusly made me upset that I bought a laserjet that cost me ten times as much just a few months before it. Like I said, the only times I print on that is for such voluminuous nonsense that I end up throwing in the recycle bin without reading it. You would think they compliment each other, but they don't. The PIXMA is all I need, nothing like a bit of color here and there in your excel printouts, or a picture or two within a Word doc. Not all the time, just when you need :) I am actually in LOVE with this little printer. I've had it for six months or so. I'm still on the original supplies. My laserjet just ran out and I'm shelling out the cost of twice this printer to replace the toner. Its that or a very pricy paperweight.

2 out of 5 eggsNot too good so far

Comments: This will now be the third try to get a working unit for canon. First one printed about 10 pages and then failed, the replacement printed a test page, and then failed. It does print well when it worked, but I just hope that the third time I will have better luck. Newegg is great though!

5 out of 5 eggsvery good and constistent

Comments: again, newegg was fast with the processing and shipping (thanks). this printer is exactly what ive been needing for sometime now. with the extra 2 sheet trays, it makes sorting paper types (plain/photo, etc...) a breeze. as a side note, it just happens to be the same design scheme as my epson perfection scanner...so it fits right in at my workspace.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Very Happy Customer

Comments: I'm astonished at the quality of this "budget" printer. I studied abroad in Japan last semester and took tons of pictures. Though I usually don't use bundled software, the software that the printer provided made choosing the photos, sizing, and printing them extremely easy, and the results absolutely look photo-quality to me. Even at the highest quality setting, it took less than a minute to print a 8 1/2x11 borderless photo. My ink has held up very well after hundreds of prints, and I know that replacing them is cheap and easy. I love this thing and can't believe it works as well as it does for the price.

There are cons, though. Though the printer is well designed (so that I can stack stuff on top of it when I'm not using it) it is quite large (since dimensions don't do it for me, I'd equate the size to about 4 closed laptops stacked on top of each other). Also, if you want really nice photos, you REALLY have to use the Canon Glossy Photo Paper Plus (about $13 for 20 8 1/2x11 sheets). Regular paper or cheap glossy paper will mke the results look very dark and dull.

Still... BUY IT! You're getting a fast printer. You're getting a photo printer. You're getting a cheap printer. The ink is cheap too. There's even a rebate right now that sweetens the deal. I love this thing. You will too
