1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Was cheap, worked for about 6 weeks--but then--

Cons: Will not print black without cleaning head EVERY DAY!! This is ludicrous. What a peice of junk, save your $$$. Less than 60 days and it's broken. Newegg let me down this time...only 30 day warranty. bleh

3 out of 5 eggsPrints great, eats ink like crazy

Pros: Text and photo printing is great. Because the printer has two different black inks plus a gray ink, it can print true grayscale photos that look really good.

Cons: The printer seems to frequently do some kind of head-cleaning process if it hasn't printed for more than a day or so. Because I don't do that much printing, I frequently feel like I could copy down what's on the screen in crayon faster than the printer takes to print the single page I need. Also, the printer eats ink like *CRAZY*. I print 95% black text, and yet the color cartridges frequently run out. huh? And I do have the printing set to "grayscale" and "plain paper" and all that. Fortunately I buy ink from a cheap generic place so it's not too bad.

Other Thoughts: Even though the printer can take a loooooong time to print the first page due to its ridiculous cleaning cycle, printing is always good. I have had numerous other H* printers which seem to frequently clog up and require manual cleaning or a whole new cartridge so you're stuck messing around with it for half an hour just to get one photo. At least this Canon does print when you need it to, as long as you keep the ink filled. Also, it's "b&w" photo printing is very good. It's almost impossible to find a low-cost printer which will do this correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: None that I can tell.

Cons: No Linux drivers available at all - thus it is simply a very expensive paperweight.

2 out of 5 eggsConsumes Ink

Pros: The photo quality is really good.
Space savings with scanner.
Fairly fast printer once it performs initial head clean before printing.

Cons: Consumes too much ink during head cleaning. With the last set of fresh color cartridges I only printed 14 photos before they became empty. The remainder of the printing was black and white documents. I did keep a tally sheet to track color printing. I did make sure printer properties were defaulted to Grayscale.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend buying this printer due to the short life and expense of the ink cartridges.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Printer

Pros: Have had this printer for over a year now and its been one of the best high end printers ive ever owned. Fast printing, changing out cartridges are a snap, litterally, just open the top, push the button and old one pops out and snap the new one in place. Can change a cartridge in under 10 seconds. Has nice beautiful prints, even on photos! Another reviewer gave this a 1 egg, said it was bulky (its no more bulky than any other all in one printer), said it wont let you print with low ink, which it does, a warning will pop up and tell you its low, just click "OK" and itll print until its 100% out. Also claims is trustrating to install. Take out of box, lift top, snap in cartridges, plug into wall outlet, plug in USB cable, install software, ready to go in 5 minutes after it comes out of the box! Would only be hard to install if you were a Llama or a Chiapet.

Cons: Really havent found any. Ive had this printer for over a year now and its been the best printer ive ever owned.

1 out of 5 eggsbulky, slow, overly complicated and cheap plastic-sque

Pros: color lcd panel-fancy looking, not practical though

Cons: bulky, slow wireless reception, extremely slow printing (even when printing gray scale)

Other Thoughts: the machine is overly sensitive and won't start work even with minor condition such as low toner in one of 5~6 color inks, etc. frustrating to install, well, i can go on for a while but. i recommend to get a cheaper one (around $80, with a basic functions). my bet is that this type of bulky, slow, not-to-smart inkjet printers will be soon to be obsolete. get a cheaper one or wait to get a better one with better deal. do not recommend it at all.
