5 out of 5 eggsA very happy purchase

Pros: A very happy purchase

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but I feel that this is one of those times I can help other people make an informed decision.
I purchased this device for home use and also to print documents for clients on occasion. I don’t do a lot of printing, but when I do, I want it done right. I was having typical issues with my inkjet printer, which was supposedly a higher end device when I purchased a year ago.
After some issues where I had to resubmit the print job a number of times, and at the cost of the replacement ink modules, my patience was at an end, and I was going to purchase another inkjet. When I saw the pricing point on this device, I was stunned, as it made a device like this available to a single person, and the Total Cost of Ownership was actually less than an inkjet when using generic toner cartridges.
After doing a LOT of printing this week and not making a dent in the toner… I can tell you that I am extremely happy with this d

Cons: It took a little bit of effort to make envelops work, and the device has a tendancy to crinkle them a little.

No duplexing... at this price point that's to be expected.

I wouldn't use this device for advanced photo printing, but printing a full size color photo has yielding good results.

Other Thoughts: As others have suggested, I added a S0-DIMM Stick of PC2-4200 Corsair Ram for a very minimal cost and the print device recognized it no problem.

Being able to take a freshly printed document and start highlighting it without smudging or ruining the highlighter is a godsend.

Also can print within a virtual machine no problem as it's a network printer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer Well worth the money

Pros: Prints ast (if its warmed up) Toner use has been pretty good to me. I always print 20 pages every week in full color for Church and then little stuff here and there and not even a slight change on my toner indicator. I even made Christmas Cards this year with it.

Cons: Its not great with photos. There is no feeder tray, there's a feeder slot, allowing only on page at a time for specialty things.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that its a power hog, just as any laser printer. My power strip tripped the first few times I tried printing, now it gets its own place in the wall, its a happy camper.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Printer. Totally justifiable switch from inkjets...

Pros: Great quality prints, the colors are sharp and very clear, and even b&w prints look sharper than some other laser printers. Since I am switching from an inkjet printer, the speed of this Xerox far exceeds any and all of my expectations, not to mention not having to deal with the "drying of ink" issue and being able to see the ink through the page on pictures.
Network connectivity works like a charm, absolutely no complaints there.
Connects to Windows machines with ease/haven't tried Macs yet, but I'm sure it's just as easy.
On printer menu is fairly easy to navigate, especially if you consider that it has a one line screen, but the web-interface will fulfill and overfill you with any info you ever needed to know about this printer.

Cons: Basically there are two:
- It tends to be a little loud in the "ready" mode, as there's a rather loud exhaust fan in the back. Not a big deal, especially since you can set it to go into power saver mode after as little as 5 min.
- I still don't know how to use the manual feed thing. Every time I stick a piece of paper in there, the printer gives me a jam error. I guess I'd need to read the manual to figure this one out...

Other Thoughts: Overall very satisfied. I bought some quality paper for it and my prints look absolutely spectacular.

The new system came with 4 starter toners which last about 100 pages each. I just hope the day when I need to replace the 4 toners never comes, cause then I'll have to cry and shell out about $300.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Good printer with good quality color print! Cartriges are a little expensive, but not when compared to ink cartriges. We purchased this printer from NewEgg along with a Free 22" monitor! Good deal there too!

Cons: No duplexing option. Have to manually reload the tray if you want to really print on both sides.

Other Thoughts: Good all around printer. Price per page is better than comparable HP printers and prints quickly. Keep in mind that this will accept PC4200 DDR2 SO-DIMM's. So don't waste your money on the "Xerox" ram.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Printer

Pros: Nice compact Color Laser printer. Neweggs price was also very nice. The web based options menus make it very easy to use instead of the LCD menu tree. Its also pretty quiet for a laser printer. I upgraded the memory becuase i have a few people that use large image files with it, runs great.

Cons: None that I have found yet, but if any pop up ill update this posting.

Other Thoughts: If you want more than the 128Mb memory that is onboard then you will want to grab this memory;
Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Unbuffered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200). Pop it in, turn it on and away you go.

Pros: great printer. was a little hard to set up. first printer I have set up that is connected to my network. but after some playing around got it connected. works great. can print from anywhere in my house. great color prints great photos. cheaper than inkjet. was buying ink every month at 35 dollars a pop. but these drums are suppose to print 2000 pages. which is better than only getting a 100 pages out of the ink jet cartridges.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Print quality is good, ethernet setup is easy, postscript printer, so it works good with Linux generic postscript driver. Good value in combo with Asus LCD.

Cons: Doesn't duplex, but that would probably cost more.

Other Thoughts: It seems like the mechanism has lots of things holding it together for shipping. I wonder how well it will hold together when I next have to ship it somewhere (during a move.)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat printer for the money

Pros: For the price, it is a great color laser. The colors are realistic, the yellow isn't too overpowering, like in some HP printers. Toner is inexpensive (when not purchased though Xerox). Use a search engine: 'Xerox 6130 toner'. Its $24.99 per color.
The RAM is expandable. It is PC2700 laptop memory. Should be around $20 for a 1GB stick on newegg.

It feeds photopaper and label paper without an issue. I have had problems with other printers feeding form a stack of glossy paper.

Cons: Printing capacity per cartridge of toner could be better. Quality is good, but not great, but for the price you can't expect better.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality and Great Value

Pros: Very good quality (but lesser so for photos). Fast startup and print speed. I purchased this as a backup / 2nd behind a Xerox 8560 DN. Very inexpensive toner cartridges available online - extremely inexpensive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Even with cheap paper, the print quality is excellent.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Printer!

Pros: Fairly easy to set up when following the installation video on the CD. Print outs are sharp and very nice looking. Prints fairly fast, too. I love the network interface.

Cons: Manual feed slot isn't ideal, but not worth lowering the rating at all.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a professional grade color laser printer that's affordable and economical, this is your printer! I'm so glad I found it. There are many contenders on the market that are cheap to get into but costly to replace toner. This was superior in quality and affordability to the others I researched. I love it!
