BSOD magnet for Win 7 - 64 bit
- Pros: Sounds good.
- Cons: Random BSOD with Windows 7 64 bit and LotRO. Only way to resolve issue is to uninstall all creative software and reinstall.
- Other Thoughts: Tech support is non existent. Drivers for Win 7 date back to June. Think that Creative needs to update their drivers.
Poor support
- Pros: Nice Paper weight
- Cons: Creative has the worst support. the card will work with Windows Vista and windows 7, " sound will come out, static, crackling. Definitely not surround sound
Check creatives website, the drivers are 6 months old. They haven't got drivers for vista corrected yet
- Other Thoughts: Get another brand. From Newegg of course!
Creative SoundBlaster SB073 X-Fi XtremeGamer
- Pros: This particular model *number* (not *name*) is SB073. Why that can't be simply stated is beyond me. The manual: http://support.creative.com/manuals/download.aspx?nDownloadId=9846&prodName=Sound%20Blaster%20X-Fi%20Xtreme%20Gamer%20User%20Guide%20English
- Cons: There is *NO* optical output (S/PDIF). The top white connector *may or may not* be a non-standard S/PDIF copper connector, but a standard one uses an RCA jack, not a 1/8 inch jack. They did say this port is "multi-function", so I guess it's up to you to provide a suitable S/PDIF copper cable.
- Other Thoughts: Where is the photo with the annotation describing the 4 jacks ? It is shown on the main page as a thumbnail photo selection, but it doesn't exist on its own product photos page ! This is probably be a simple mistake. I'd much rather see the front panel connectors than a photo of the module's components. Let's see if this omission gets fixed any time soon.
