A Must for Dynamic Music
- Pros: Excellent sound. This sound card does a boatload of processing and has great features, including optical I/O. It is also totally noise free. My Dell Laptop's onboard sound has a terrible noise problem. There simply is no comparison between the Creative and my onboard sound.
- Cons: It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but when you listen to dynamic music on studio headphones, you nee the best.
- Other Thoughts: This card in combination with the Sony MDR-7506 or MDR-V6 is simply amazing.
If the rebate comes back, it might be worth it
- Pros: SUCKS
- Cons: Sucks, I put this in a brand new Gateway laptop, then the software made startups take for ever. So uninstalled everything and there it sits waiting for rebate to come, write the rest off in this years taxes
- Other Thoughts: new egg sent this to me in one day, super fast
Just OK, needs extras
- Pros: Better sound than what's on your laptop now
- Cons: The end is fat, hard to fit in a laptop with a network or other card. Also, doesn't really raise your laptop speakers volume much.
- Other Thoughts: Not worth the money. I had to buy a speaker system (creative travel-something) to go with it so my kids could listen to movies in the car above the roar of road noise, which isnt much.
