5 out of 5 eggsGreat Soundcard

Pros: Great sound and it works with everything I've used from Windows XP, Windows 7, Linux Crunchbang, and Linux Mint. Just hooked it up to as an alternative to my Logitech webcam microphone and it works with that for video recording and Skype.

Cons: None really. Haven't used it for gaming w/ a PC but am going to try to do that next and see if it works w/ my M-Audio headset and Groove Tubes studio microphone. If so...it'll save me money on an expensive gaming headset.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this for my small home studio. I've had this for probably over 10 years now and it still works as good as the day I bought it, can be used for multiple applications. A great product.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: Sound quality, noise and dynamics are super. For its quality I think it's the least expensive out there.

Cons: 64 bit drivers. Only beta, but I can't make them work in XP 64. ByrdMan, would you enlighten me as to what you've done to make them work so well? Thanks

Other Thoughts: Athlon AX2 5600, 8 gig of RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for recording

Pros: Great little recording break out box. Very low noise. If you want to record guitar this is great. I use it for that and recording a micro korg I have. Took a while to firgure out how to work it but it sounds awesome now. I run it though a mixer first.

Cons: Not really a con but be aware the the jacks are like mono in and mono out. Also you need to have powered speakers with 2 inputs for left and right if you want to get sounds out of it.

Other Thoughts: This is not a gaming card. It's an audio recording card. Good drivers too.

5 out of 5 eggsm-audio delta 44

Pros: I did not realize how noisy my sound blaster audigy cards were during recording until I hooked this baby up! I must admit that it did take a day or so to finally understand that the inputs and outputs are paired and not individual stereo lines but once I got that figured out the result was super clean noiseless audio recordings. I'm running windows xp 64bit and the beta drivers off the website work great. Unfortunately no vista drivers exist but who wants to run multitracking on vista? Asio works superb with this card. No more latency during multitracking and computer peak moniters are right on the dot. I'm going to upgrade to the delta 1010 so I can record 5 tracks at the same time which would make the bands that come to my garage studio muy happy-o. this is a must have for any home studio unless you like the crackles and pops of conventional soundcards.

Cons: The inputs and outputs are paired meaning that you have 2 stereo inputs and outputs NOT 4. I was under the impression that each imput and output was a seperate stereo line.

Other Thoughts: make sure you have a good preamp for any devices that you run into this card because it is designed only for sound capture and output processing which is fine because that means whatever volume you put through this device is untouched and records as is.

3 out of 5 eggsTrouble with Vista

Pros: Excellent soundcard, with high reviews and good support.

Cons: WILL NOT WORK WITH VISTA. Make sure you are not planning on using Vista before purchasing this. Vista Drivers are not released in regular or even beta format.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: For you people who know what you are doing, his card is great. IN and OUTS will take a hot signal from a Marshall JMP-1 or a Fender Cyber Twin, Get this card. I have hooked a Turntable through my mixer and pre amp onto this card with no problem. use the onboard mixer on not. I recommend you use your in line out board mixer.

Cons: None for those who know what their doing.

Other Thoughts: M-Audio is a good product. Get with a good software vendor like Cakewalk.

5 out of 5 eggsTop quality and built pro-tough

Comments: I've used this card with Cakewalk on windows and now that Gnu/Linux has progressed, it's working well with Debian. The path box is very solid built and the cable between the card and box is extremely heavy and ready to last for years. You'll want to strap the cable so that its weight doesn't hang from and stress the PCI card.

5 out of 5 eggsfor the dj's

Comments: This has 4 output channels to mix music on the pc with dj software. I use it with traktor 2.5.3 and it sounds awesome. Latency can be down to minimum settings with this card. Wanna get serious about mixing? Buy this, M-audio never fails.
