The card has both analog audio outputs for up to 7.1 Dolby surround sound systems and coaxial and optical 7.1 digital S/PDIF outputs for pass-through of Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES DVD soundtracks with 24-bit resolution at 96KHz sampling rates. It also supports Dolby Digital Live, which converts any audio signal into a Dolby Digital bitstream for playback through a home-theater system via a single cable.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: I've had this card since it first debuted as an HDA Bluegears card, and I LOVE it.

I regularly play games and it has never let me down.

Even stereo mp3s become pseudo surround sound. Not sure how it works without actually being encoded that way, but backround noises are typically produced on my rear speakers, and foreground on my center R & L speakers.

Cons: It only supports up to EAX 2.0, but thats not AuzenTech's fault.

Microphone volume is very weak. I resorted to using my motherboards on-board sound to get around the issue, but really wish I didn't have to.

Other Thoughts: I have this card connected to my 5.1 home theater receiver. Hearing every sound that comes out of your computer in 5.1 surround sound is something every gamer or audio enthusiast should experience!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks on Linux, but not perfectly

Pros: I bought this card to replace an integrated chip that did not provide as high a quality of sound as I wanted. I got the high quality.

I also need a card that would work in Linux...this card provides that.

Cons: I also bought this card so that I could play multiple sounds at the same time (i.e. play ut2004 which music in the background). I could not do this on the integrated chip, nor can I do this on this card.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value for the $$

Pros: - Phenomenal sound distribution. I have an optical cord running out of this sound card into my Sony receiver and it sounds AWESOME on games, movies and music.

Cons: Installation was a bit quirky. Remember to disable your onboard sound drivers before you install this! I had to download the proper drivers off of the Auzentech website. Don't use the driver disk!!

Other Thoughts: Awesome investment if you're thinking about a HTPC.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound Card

Pros: Live 5.1 encoding of any source, much fuller sound, pass through of 5.1 (won't alter already encoded 5.1 sources), stable, no separate panel required for optical out

Cons: Can't use optical in and optical out at the same time (one connection)

Other Thoughts: This is my second card. The first has been running solid 24/7 in an HTPC for over a year. Very stable and no driver issues.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has both Optical and Coax digital output. Includes optical cable. Great, problem-free, works-the-first-time drivers for WinXP.

Cons: Can't output both digital and analog at the same time so you have to switch in the configuration (but very easy to do - 2 clicks of the mouse).

Other Thoughts: This is THE card for almost any home-theater setup. I have my computer in the basement and run a 25ft digital coax cable to my home theater (as well as S-Video and PS/2 mouse & keyboard) upstairs. This card performs flawlessly!

Only drawback is that analog and digital can't be outputted simultaneously so I have to change the configuation if I want audio downstairs. However, in its defense, it could output optical digital downstairs and coax digital upstairs if I wished.

Unlike "other" brands of soundcards, SBl*ster Audi*y, no bulky or flawed drivers (WinXP).
The configuration utility is flexible and easy to use.

5 out of 5 eggsNece head room

Pros: Great sounding card. Sure beats the pants off and sound card I've ever had. Finally A soun card that has enough output voltage to drive me home theater preamp.

Cons: Horrible customer service. I'd fire everybody that worked in that department. Card was D.O.A. After a $25.00 shipping return fee....I got my new card. Had to call New Egg for the return. First card was installed in 2 Giga byte mother boards with no success.

Other Thoughts: Lets flood Auzentech with letters about there crumie customer service. Maybe the they'll get the hint.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, does the job, DD-Live!

Pros: DD-Live! - Low Cost - Sound Quality - Multiple Configurations - Pre-amps - Simultaneous Digital & Analog output - Vista 64 Compatible!

Cons: DD-Live & Analog not simultaneous, only Digital PCM. No longer supported.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a cheap card this has all you need with room for expansion. It can practically do everything today's technology could ask of it, and because it allready supports vista 64-bit drivers who cares that it's no longer supported.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good priced Doubly Digital Live card with EAX support. Has some problems but great card for the price if you want to use your home theatre surround sound system

Cons: This card has issues with other drivers especially NVIDIA you have to make sure you install this card after any other drivers or you will have issues with your system starting. This card has a very noticeably delay with it Analog to digital conversion.

3 out of 5 eggsthis card = no 5.1 in gaming?

Pros: sounds amazing in 5.1 on dvds, and that was just analog, havnt had the chance to try with digital yet.

Cons: had to reseat the card to get it recognized by its own driver (vista drivers). ive been messing with it all day, and i cant get half-life 2 to work in 5.1 at all. im wondering if its because this card only supports eax 2.0... ill call tech support tomorrow.

Other Thoughts: if anyone has figured out how to get 5.1 working correctly with the source engine, or for any other game , please lemme know how.
