Olympus' slim yet powerful FE-5010 boasts a 12.0 megapixel sensor mounted behind a 5X optical zoom lens. A dual mode image stabilization system ensures crisp images. Sensor-Shift adjusts the image sensor to compensate for camera shake. High sensitivity and fast shutter speeds compensate for fast moving objects. Both combine to produce spectacular pictures.
Advanced Face Detection tracks up to 16 faces in a shot and optimizes the camera's settings for the best picture possible. Smile Shot will fire off three shots when it detects a smile to capture the perfect smile every time. Portrait mode takes it even further and helps you take amazing portrait shots.
Use the 2.7" screen on the back to view and edit your pictures right on the camera. Perfect Fix can lighten shadows and remove red-eye. With a Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery, enjoy long-lasting shooting and you are always ready for the import shot!

Awesome zoom!
- Pros: Maybe made of plastic, but I haven't had any problems. I have taken this camera to amusement parks, MLB games, etc. and packed it in my purse or bag along with water bottles, keys, and much more. It still looks brand new. The zoom is fantastic. We were in the outfield at Cincinnati, and I could zoom 400 feet to take a picture of the batter. It took pictures at the night game and clearly showed lettering on score board. It even has a firework setting that did a nice job. Colors are rich if you are in the correct setting for your available light. Haven't printed yet, but look awesome on screen. If anything is less than I expect, I will repost, but in the right setting, the faces are extremely clear. Video camera takes very clear clips as well. Lens cover closes on its own when shut off to keep lens safe and clean. Doesn't weigh much more than my cell phone. I would put it equal to our Sony that we paid about 75 bucks more for.
- Cons: Need to practice with it to see which is your best setting for the amount of light you have and for clarity. The camera tries to do a lot of focusing for you. Sometimes it focuses on something you weren't after. I would say that this is a good camera for someone who knows how to use a SLR but doesn't want to bring their SLR. It is easy to use if you mess with it. A little more advanced than the Kodak, point and shoot $99 specials. I don't know much about the XD card. Suppose to use a micro SD, but haven't tried that. I have many SD cards and would have rather it used it.
- Other Thoughts: I say 4.5 egss, because I wish the battery life was better. I am use to the Canon SLR cameras, which have awesome battery life. Of course they cost 4 times the price of this camera. As far as the color choices on pictures, I just want my camera to take the pictures clearly. I can use my software to change to sepia, black and white, or whatever. I bought this as a late night decision off QVC because I wanted to play with the Smile Shot mode. I really like the little camera. If it was made more solid and of materials other than plastic, it would not be so light. I wanted the lightness enough, I don't mind the plastic. Has an external batter charger. I am a little leary of that part, because I am afraid the door hinge on the camera is going to tear up since it is the cheapest plastic part on it, but I have the extra warranty. I am also planning on buying an extra battery or two, which you could keep charged and ready easily. For under $200 bucks, I am pleased.
Great Olympus Camera!
- Pros: -12 megapixels!
-Great zoom (both optical and digital) -Light and slim design -Excellent owner's guide and software included -Battery charger (and battery of course) included were a definite plus
- Cons: -no viewfinder (advertised as such, just used to having one on other cameras I've had)
-Battery length is OK, but get a backup for long trips
- Other Thoughts: Wonderful product, service, and delivery as I've become accustomed to when I go through Newegg! (Ordered this camera Monday morning, was taking pictures with it by lunch on Tuesday!)

It's OK
- Pros: Work every bit as well as any of our Canons.
- Cons: Needs a special flash card that isn't common to my other devices. Also, It must use thier proprietary cable to connect to a PC.
- Other Thoughts: I just pray I don't lose that cable! A simple USB connector would have been better on this camera.
