Rating: 5/5Nicest camera and not only for the price paid
Pros: For the price of $179.99 - I'm getting much more than with my old OLYMPUS CAMEDIA C-60 which was bulky and quality of picture is really bad comparing to the Canon SD1000, all is perfect and the size of the camera will keep you happy.
Cons: as a lot of you noticed battery indicators shows it at the time when battery dies only.
Other Thoughts: just go for it or wait for a new model which has same filling just different sleek and ergonomic design...

Rating: 5/5Awesome Camera.
Pros: Very simple operation with great pictures. Battery lasts longer than AAs and charges in a wall charger. Point and shoot and keep shooting with this camera. Nicely sized screen for viewing pictures. Almost no lag for movement of objects/animals. When viewing your pictures or taking them, the camera adjusts vertically or horizontally to how the camera is being held. On/Off, take picture put back in your pocket. Definitely higher technology that what I need.
Cons: Today i noticed that the camera recognized my dog's face and a couple of rocks to the left of him. What's the camera trying to say? The waterproof housing case is just as expensive as the camera is!
Get another battery if you need to be continuously shooting pictures even when your are sleeping...Hint Hint.
Other Thoughts: I would suggest getting a combo package that comes with the 2 gig SD or higher because of the amount of pictures and size you'll want to take with this camera. I bought it for a replacement of a Kodak easyshare that i slammed in my car door. So i also recommend the 3 year warranty that covers stupidity.

Rating: 5/5Impressive little thing
Pros: Great size, price and most of all image quality.
Cons: Propreitary battery is good for 250 shots. 3x zoom fine in most situations, but occasionally more would be better.
Other Thoughts: This camera exceeded our wildest expectations. It really takes some nice photos; has an easy menu that no one could get confused over; allows some manual controls; takes decent macro pictures; does pretty good in low light.

Rating: 5/5small quick camera
Pros: supports sdhc, takes pictures, takes videos, microphone works great. Have used it some @ night in video mode as well. I like this camera way better than the mini dvd camera I bought 3 years ago. Bought an 8 GB SDHC card and have tons of room for video. Technology has come a long way!
Cons: video is poor at best, but fine for recording those quick memories. Only video output option is avi. Can't complain since I don't know much about video, and really bought this for the picture taking abilities.
Other Thoughts: still wish the time between button push and picture was quicker. Still seems slow to me even after using menus to turn off all those thinking options. bought the Canon 9763A006 Digital ELPH Camera Accessory Kit 4. really like the case, camera is just right size for carrying everywhere.

Rating: 5/5small camera with huge capabilities
Pros: I ordered on a Monday morning, received my product Wednesday afternoon. great packaging. the time it takes once you push the on button to the time you take you're first snapshot is my favorite thing about this camera. small size. pictures are clear and good quality 99% of the time. face detection has worked flawlessly in not so great to amazing lighting. AWESOME video capabilities, this camera is perfect for those times i thought to myself "i wish i had a camera, no one at home is going to believe this!"
Cons: I usually never read instructions until i hit a dead end and have no idea how to use something. Initially the controls were a little tough to get used to and it took me about an entire minute to find how to zoom. One of the first things i did was turn off the "auto rotate" option for the playback menu, it was just annoying and cumbersome. 32mbs of storage is almost useless but thats nothing an 8gb card didn't fix (about 30bucks, thanks Newegg!). no major issues other than me just getting used to a new product/
Other Thoughts: I own an Olympus E500 for the most fancy photos i take. One of my favorite hobbies is to explore trails in my Jeep. I needed something small, somewhat cheap, fast and has the ability to take decent video. This little powerhouse has surpassed all my expectations. I find it cheap enough that i wont be absolutely heart broken that i dropped it into a bog of mud i was stuck in or dropped it into a rock. if i did end up breaking this camera i will buy another sd1000 that same day.
