The Canon A620 is something new on the compact camera horizon: An affordable, well-featured 7.1 MP compact great for the enthusiasts watching the budget. It’s newly equipped with the amazing DIGIC II processor and a 2.0 vari-angle LCD, and has a wealth of options, including a 4x optical zoom.
The A620's 7.1 mega pixel CCD has enough detail for large prints, and you can shoot on any setting from full auto to full manual control. In addition, a sort of user guide is available by the integrated function button in the center of the four-way buttons on the back. The A620 supports video, too, up to a minute long, with the QVGA format at 60fps, or in VGA at 30fps at any length your storage will allow.
There is nothing here that looks like a 'budget' model at all; image quality is excellent, it's very well built, it handles well and it has a real wealth of photographic features that make it suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to the more experienced photographer wanting more control over the picture taking process. Like previous Canon models, it's a great first camera for anyone wanting to learn photography, being both affordable and well-featured enough to grow with you. A fine purchase for gifts, vacation or family use!

Excellent Camera!
- Pros: There are so many good things about this camera. I am a professional photographer and so I take my cameras (even p/s) very seriously. The lens on this camera is great. Real sharp, and very little purple fringing (I've heard it is G series glass). The Digic II processor is very fast. The CCD produces nice clean images for a p/s camera. Build quality feels substantial without being too heavy. The grip is also nice (wont fall out of your hand like some of the pocket sized cameras). You can have full manual control, or you can just let the camera do all the work. This is good for the experienced photographer looking for a backup, or even a beginner. I would recommend this to anyone. I even bought the A610 for my dad (same camera, just 5MP). Do yourself a favor, buy it from NewEgg. They are the cheapest, they are reliable, and they send it right out to you.
- Cons: Really the only thing I can think of is no RAW format. For the price though, I cant complain. Besides, that is what DSLRs are for.
- Other Thoughts: If you dont have a card reader, dont worry about getting one. If you have a fast card this camera will practically throw images in the computer:) I just use a Ritek 1GB 66x and it seems to be a perfect match.
woooooooowwwww
- Comments: I just ordered this camera from Newegg and it rocks. Yes it simply rocks. This camera offers a G-series performance in a A-series price. I did a lot of research before buying it and am glad i did. The image quality is great, the flash is super fast. I wish they gave a bigger SD card with the camera, but cant ask much for the price. Though the camera looks a bit bulky in pictures, it is very light, even with the batteries in.
Newegg, as usual did a fantastic job and got me the camera next-day. Highly recommended

Great Pictures
- Pros: Canon continues to produce a superior product(I also own the A70).Takes great pictures, easy to use and it makes me look like a pro!
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Buy it, you won't be disappointed.Free 1 Gig. memory card sweetened the deal.NewEgg shipped it out fast!,they are the best!
Works great
- Pros: In all but the most inhospitable lighting conditions, the camera takes fantastic pictures. When you're in a hurry, the automatic snapshot does a great job of gaugeing the lighting conditions and making the proper adjustments for a good picture. If you're not satisfied with that, you can adjust everything manually. Noise in dark shots is generally diminutive.
- Cons: Only 4x zoom lens. Only supports up to ISO 400 speed. Aperture ceiling of 2.4. For the price, however, these are things you can reasonably expect.
- Other Thoughts: A great starter camera for the budding photographer, great snapshot camera for knockaround picture-taking.
Nice Camera!
- Pros: quick to pick up & takes great pics
- Cons: little tricky to get the camera to work with the pc, have to slide a switch.
- Other Thoughts: other wise easy to use & makes nice short videos
