Pros: 720p movie mode is great. As a point and shoot it takes great stills as well.
Cons: It's a little bigger than the 750 it replaced, but then again it does more.
Other Thoughts: Hard to go wrong with this. Solid buy.

Expected More

Pros: Movie mode is impressive! (even if blocky under low light) Good snapshots under the right conditions. Face recognition works real well! Relatively fast response for a small camera.
Cons: TOO MANY BLURRY PHOTOS! The optical image stabilization isn't as good as the camera "thinks" it is. FREQUENTLY, I take a picture and think, "wow, I expected it to need a flash". When I look at the blurry picture I just took, sure enough, it needed a flash.
I can get around this by switching to manual mode and turning on the flash *EVERY* time I turn it on. What? It won't remember my settings?!?!? Grrrrr!
Other Thoughts: This is a pocket point-and-shoot camera for me. I own a Nikon DSLR, and know what I am doing when it comes to using a camera. I wanted a camera to throw in my pocket and snap photos of the kids while running around.
I can usually get it to take pretty good snapshots. Unfortunately, it frustrates my wife and she just refuses to use it. My old 6 megapixel Olympus got more reliable shots.
Just an observation of all 12Megapixel cameras like this: Ridiculous. They are diffraction limited - the optics are much worse than the 12Mpixel sensor. Don't fall for the "more pixels are better" junk.

Pros: Typical Canon, minus the cons below.
Cons: Take forever to snap a photo. Slowest Canon of the five models I've handled over the last 7 years, all in the SD family. I've found that your target needs to be perfectly still to get a clear photo too. The least bit of motion and you'll get blurring. The oldest camera I had I'd take pictures of wakeboarders and get solid shots.
Other Thoughts: Just a "meh" purchase. Boss borrowed the camera this week to play with. He toyed with it much more than I have and couldn't get any settings to make it worthy. It was on his buy list until he got to use it. If you were considering this for your purchase I'd recommend continuing your search.
