Canon’s PowerShot SD780 combines a broad feature set into a pocket-sized package to capture the world around you. The cutting-edge 12.1 megapixels of imaging power give you the ability to create photos with incredible quality and clarity. Use the 3x optical zoom to get closer to your subject, and count on optical image stabilization to ensure sharp images even when you’re following the action. The 2.5-inch PureColor II LCD lets you see your image as the camera sees it – enabling you to catch the perfect moment.
Canon’s exclusive DIGIC 4 image processor takes most of the guesswork out of getting a good picture. It offers faster, more accurate noise reduction at higher ISO speeds, and incorporates iSAPS technology to improve image focus and color balance. With the SmartAUTO intelligent shooting module, the SD780 IS selects the proper settings for your photos based on 18 predefined shooting situations, for the perfect shot! The New Face Self-Timer allows you to get into the picture with the camera waiting until it recognizes an additional face before taking the shot.
Red-eye can be eliminated automatically or manually within the camera. Additional settings let you take control of the entire picture-taking process with 20 shooting modes. Print straight from the camera with SELPHY and PIXMA photo printers. Life happens – capture it with the PowerShot SD780 IS.
Pros: Compact, Takes amazing pictures, HD video recording, and this camera is extremely durable. See other thoughts
Cons: Doesn't have the wide angle lense like the SD880 IS and only has a 3X optical zoom, but its compact size and style more than make up for it.
Other Thoughts: I had this camera for about a week before my first mistake, I dropped it outside my car and didnt realize it till the next day by this time it had rained when I found it the camera was full of water. I took it inside and got as much water as I could out of it. After a few hours I I put the battery back in and it still worked. About a week later I lost it again due to alcohol consumption I wrote it off as gone till a friend called me and told me he found it outside in his yard about 2 weeks after I had lost it and it still works flawlessly. Canon sure can make a durable camera and if your in the market for a extremely compact, durable and one that takes great pictures this is the camera!!

awesome camera, disregard 2 star moron

Pros: In response to the only moron who rated this product 2 eggs...There's absolutely nothing wrong with owning a PC when using this camera. Most of us would prefer AVI over MOV but that's the least of your worries. Honestly, what does having a Mac have to do with viewing images and videos on your camera...clearly does not know what he's talking about.
Cons: The zoom could definitely be better but I can't complain. The size and quality of the pictures come out neatto. Again, disregard the review from the guy who didn't buy his cam from newegg and doesn't know anything about cameras.
Other Thoughts: This camera is small, compact, and awesome. It comes in a few colors so be sure to check those out if black isn't your thing. You can't go wrong with this camera either way.

Pros: I took my RED powershot sd780 to work to show it off one day and it turned alot of heads! Infact one guy loved it so much he asked me to order him this one (black sd780). This this has every feature you could want and more. HD video that blows any other point and shoots 640x480 video away. Even watching the videos on my monitor @ 1920x1080 it still looks crisp. Great camera recommend for everyone!
Cons: Get a small leather case with a strap for it. I had it in my hoodie pocket and it hopped right out and cracked the LCD screen. Cost me about $75 to fix it (sent it to Canon repair, they were quick to repair it too, cheaper than replacing entire camera!).
Other Thoughts: Everyone seems to be listing their systems these days so here it goes: RAIDMAX Scorpio case | Corsair 650w | Asus p6T mobo | Intel i7 920 (Quade-core @ 2.66GHz) | ZEROtherm core 92 heatsink w/fan | G.Skill DDR3 1600 3x1GB Gaming Memory (upgrading soon) | 2x Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM 32mb Cache Hard drives | Asus 22x DVD burner | 2x EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB DDR3 Video Cards running in SLI | all in one memory card reader | Hanns-G 25" Widescreen LCD | Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Pros: Great Picture quality, great lighting features. Canon puts out another great product.
Cons: the size. it's very small. I am a bigger guy and have big hands. the camera is very small and feels like a toy when i'm using it. The software that comes with the camera is horribad. I am used to just plug and play and save the photos to the computer. This software will not let me do that. I am having problems with it connecting at times.
Other Thoughts: The software is the only reason I didnt give the 5 eggs,
