5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: Took great pictures indoors and out.

Cons: Only file type I could save pictures as was .JPG. Other than that, no negatives.

Other Thoughts: Bought this camera for a trip to Rome, Italy. Very pleased with it. About as good as it gets for $100 point and shoot camera. It even took good pictures inside the Vatican Museum where flash has to be turned off.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality

Pros: Newegg fast shipping!

Cons: Bought this product as an upgraded and boy was i disappointed. Pictures at all setting were noisy and were no way as sharp as the ones taken with the camera I intended to replace. The menu is also quiet clunky and a chore to navigate.

Other Thoughts: Definitely sending this one back to newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Winner

Pros: Perfectly Continuous Burst mode which is wht i tend to shoot in, Awesome focus with the Macro settings, Great Quick Boot Time, Great 8x Optical Zoom, Good in low light, even outdoors at night (have not tried star shots.)

Cons: Tripod mount all the way to one side, so not sturdy on Mini/Tabletop Tripods, Proprietary Rechargeable Battery Pack*, Not enough Hand Grip (I Keep blocking the flash)

Other Thoughts: This was purchased to replace an older Lumix model (DMC-LZ5) which was a 6MP Dream, with a thicker body and good hand grip, almost like a mini-DSLR in shape, this could use some more hand grip and the ability to use regular batteries, but otherwise it's an amazing camera.

*The Battery Pack Charger is a hot-swap style, so the battery comes out of the camera and goes in the charger base, since you don't have to (can't) have the battery in the camera to charge it, it's easy to buy one or more additional batteries and keep them with you on the go if needed.

Also I love that it is physical toggle switches for the Power and Cam/Review switch, I tend to put the camera in my back pocket as i walk and they're less likely to both get switched on, so since the lens stays retracted if powered on in review mode, i dont risk harming the lens motors.

3 out of 5 eggsnice but way too fragile

Pros: Takes wonderful pics. easy to use. battery life is good. quick data transfer to SDHC. No video issues either. (class 10 SDHC)

Cons: It fell off the kitchen countertop onto a wood floor once and it was toast. I bought this compact point and shoots because I need something that takes decent pics, but is small enought to fit in my pocket. However if it is so fragile I am afraid to take it anywhere it really defeats the purpose. I will not buy another lumix...

Other Thoughts: none

5 out of 5 eggsMarvelous

Pros: Picture Clarity is awesome. It focuses very very well in low light conditions, and even does great in tricky backlighting conditions. I used to film and take pictures of fireworks this past 4th of July and it exceeded expectations for a point and shoot camera. The menu navigation instead of a physical nob actually makes for faster switching between video and picture taking... if you really need to move quickly between picture taking and video there's always the intelligent auto button on top. 8x zoom is also really handy and the stabilization feature works really really well. I gotta hand it to Panasonic on this one, they really did good with this camera.

Cons: No zoom in video kinda sucks, however most of the time when people are given this feature they kinda abuse it and it makes for poor video quality when recording.

So the lack of zoom during video can be both a con and a plus. HD video isn't in the most compact form, the .mov file format tends to make videos 10x bigger than they need to be, although the camera doesn't have the processing power to really record in .mp4, anything closer than .mov would've been nice. However despite this file format difference, the video quality is still superb.

Other Thoughts: If you are like me and like to record long videos and have to switch hands to maintain arm stamina... be careful when holding it with your left hand to not block the microphone. I did this a couple times and it just made things sound kinda odd.
