Automatic or manual? That's the choice. Put it in Automatic, and all you have to do is point and shoot! Use ,manual features to create the effects that make your pictures unique! There's a Fiddle Factor, but...
- Pros: It's a very small camera with decent (not excellent) picture quality. Easy to navigate settings and buttons (has a details tip setting so a pop-up tells you what each of the little pictures mean). Good price. 3.5 second start-up.
- Cons: The con's aren't THAT bad if you play with it a bit. Reset the ISO from auto to between 100 and 400 (It gets really grainy if left on auto). Autofocus isn't precise on auto sensitivity, but resetting the ISO will help clear that up as well. WAIT for the flash to be ready or you're going to hate life - or at least the picture you get.
- Other Thoughts: I've got several high-end digital cameras with MUCH better quality, but they're a bit slow and rather heavy. This is small, light, faster and the picture quality is better than what you'd get from any disposable 35MM camera. I got it for those family/casual shots that don't require a lot of thought or a small child to haul it around for you. The only down side is the autofocus really does suck if left alone. Resetting the ISO to 100 (standard outdoor sensitivity) up to about 400 (Standard indoor or night-time sensitivity) helped a lot with the picture clarity on autofocus. 200 is all purpose and is adequate for most shots. You have to reset the ISO each time you turn on the camera. I suggest using the "green button" for this. You can try the manual focus (not hard to do, either) for better results if you have the time. See the manual, learn the camera and it will be a good, little unit for picture taking.
Great cam for the price
- Pros: Big viewing screen. Letters are big. Language options. Functions are easy to find. Image stabilization. Rechargeable batteries. Price.
- Cons: Haven't used it that long to find any.
- Other Thoughts: I got this for my grandparents who are 70+. So far its pretty easy to learn. I think its a great cam for the price. Its has a big viewing screen and text is bigger so its great for people with eye trouble. Its great basic camera to start out with, but doesn't lack in the cool features. I would recommend this camera to anyone trying to look for a easy to use basic camera yet cool looking.

One more thing...
- Pros: (There is an additional important con I thought of after I submitted my review.)
- Cons: This camera has no viewfinder; you must use the LCD on the back to compose photos and navigate menus. In direct sunlight on the back of the camera the LCD is completely washed out and unviewable. You just have to point and click and hope for the best under those conditions.
Outstanding camera for the price!
- Pros: Overall, I've been blown away by this camera, given its remarkable price. There are three standout features, in my opinion:
1) It comes with a rechargable lithium-ion battery (and a recharger for it).
2) It lasts a long time on a single charge (I take well over 100 photos on a single charge).
3) The lens focus range is incredible! You can take photos from two inches from the lens all the way out to infinity. The closeup results are superb (if lighting conditions are good) thanks to the lens, image stabilization, autofocus, auto exposure, and resolution, and they're so easy to do!
This camera's light, small, has image stabilization, optical zoom, video & audio recording, 8 megapixel resolution, quick USB downloads to your computer, and comes with very easy to use & basic but capable image editting software, all for a low price! (For comparison, my first digital camera had none of these features, only 1 megapixel resolution, and cost over $300!)
This camera's fun & eas
- Cons: Picture quality in low light conditions is not very good. But this is typical for many or most digital cameras. Never the less, this camera will not satisfy you if you take many or important photos in dim light. (It has a built-in flash, which is good. But built-in flashes, in general, have very limited utility and certainly don't give "professional" results. Built-in flashes are not good for close-ups, distant subjects, uniform lighting, soft shadows, or off angle shadows, and often cause harsh reflections and "red eyes.")
Basically, the brighter the light the better. Photos taken in sunlight are clearly the best obtainable with this camera.
- Other Thoughts: This camera is great for travel and around the house. Just be sure to get an add-on memory card (4GB is good - it will hold many hundreds of full-resolution images at the highest quality settings, many minutes of video at the highest quality settings, and many hours of audio). You can shoot photos all day long without worrying about the battery charge, and recharge it overnight. The close-up capability is an absolute blast! You have no idea what beautiful and interesting things are all around you until you take really close up photos, like from 2 inches away.
Get a 4GB memory card, and have the capacity to take all your photos and videos at the highest resolution and quality settings -- no need to compomise quality for capacity.
good camera for the money i paid
- Pros: Works great.. picture quality is decent..
and very compact.
- Cons: Close up macro shots are hard to do..
