5 out of 5 eggsGood and cheap

Pros: Easy to install, easy to set up. The price was right.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Worked right out of the box. My ASUS system running Win7 recognized it immediately. Works like a charm.

5 out of 5 eggsit works on freebsd

Pros: It works on FreeBSD and is recognzied as "em0" network card. Media speed is shown as 1000Base-T. I am happy.

Cons: None. Intel Pro 100 worked on this box so why Intel Pro 1000 shouldn't?

5 out of 5 eggsFast and dependable

Pros: I'm using this adapter in an old AGP/PCI-based PC to give it Gigabit capabilities. Actually, the motherboard has built-in Gigabit (VIA Velocity), but for my purposes (Linux server) the Intel PCI adapter provides faster performance.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: I had for years used the integrated network adapter on my computers without thinking there might be a better option. When I had one fail I purchased this so I could get back up and running and it did more than that. I noticed that my download speeds are generally more stable (and slightly faster). It installs without issue in Windows 7 x64 and has run like a champ for a year and a half now.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: I just plugged it in and both Windows 7 and Linux Mint saw it.

Cons: It is not the cheapest NIC on the market but it is an Intel so you get what you pay for.
