Pros: Has great range. Have it on a computer in another room and can still interact with my computer without any problems. This unit is a plug and play for most desktops including XP64 and vista64. The software that comes with it is not needed, but if you would like to take full advantage of this adaptor, it's good to have or do like some others have and use alternate controller programs. Vista uses a basic OBX program you can also down load it from the internet. I also live in an appartment complex and have had no problem with interferance or drops which is a plus for this unit!

Cons: Not really a con about the linksys adaptor, just a warning. I've tried this on all my desktops which include. Ubuntu 8.04, XP32 pro, XP64 pro, Vista 32 Ultimate, Vista 64 Ultimate, Vista 32 Home+. The only problem I have had with two of my OS setups is the Anti virus software. This was XP32 pro, and Vista 32 Home, both have norton. Both block some of the linksys adaptors communications, BUT I have (again both XP32 and Vista32 Home) two others OS's with Norton that work flawlessly on all test. You may have to tweak your anti-virus or reinstall your anit-virus all together. Some of the others have Kaspersky and microsoft OneCare which did not interfere at all.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for the purpose of controlling itunes on my computers remotely by the us of my iphone. It has great range and goes threw at least one wall. The connection has never dropped. It has worked on all the OS desktops listed above for this purpose, except of course the two I mentioned. I would buy this unit again!

Pros: Stays connected.

Cons: HAve to get it to connect. Doesn't work with bluetooth headsets typically. Works good with my phone though. So, didnt cut a corner on skype phone headset until I orderred a specific headset designed and certified for it.

Other Thoughts: Didn't need 4 hours of tech support to find out that it can't connect with every bluetooth device.

Good but poor software

Pros: The unit works well after configured and I just left it plugged into a usb port and it works fine.

Cons: The software included with the item made this unusable for me, and I spent hours trying to configure it. It was only after I uninstalled the software completely and let XP find and configure it that it worked. I used OBEX Commander (found easily on the net) instead, and I have had no problems.

Other Thoughts: This is a very good item, but I have had issues with Linksys equipment because of their software. YMMV, of course.
