The WRT160NL Wireless-N Gigabit Router from Linksys is as powerful as it is versatile. As a wireless access point, it uses the latest Draft 802.11n wireless technologies for greater range and data speeds than the older standards, (when used with compatible wireless adapters) while still being fully backwards compatible — perfect for mixed-mode environments.
The router's MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology also makes it a great choice for multimedia fanatics, minimizing errors and optimizing data speed through the use of multiple antennas for both sending and receiving. There's a built-in four-port 10/100 Ethernet switch for wired connections to your network.
Linksys' Storage Link technology lets you connect a USB external hard drive or USB flash drive. This way you can allow multiple users on your network to access files of all kinds. A built-in Media Server takes that up a notch, giving you the ability to stream music, video, and photos from the attached storage device to any UPnP (universal plug and play) media adapter.
Pros: High Reliability (Uptime), USB Netlink turns any USB storage into NAS, Nice Web Interface, New LELA Configuration Software, Small
Cons: It is pricey compared to some models. The wired ports are only 10/100 (not Gigabit). They have a model with Gig e-net ports but it is even more expensive and I don't have a wired gigE PC at the moment...
Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd Linksys Router, but I've worked with quite a few others for friends and family. Linksys was great before Cisco bought them, and they're probably better now that they're part of Cisco's family. Most Routers are going to perform the same, assuming you can get them setup and configured properly. This is where Linksys excels. My DSL modem was actually plug and play with this new router. The LELA software walked me through the process of setting the SSID and admin password. It took it a few minutes to download the latest firmware (mostly because I a cheap skate with a 1.5Mbps DSL connection) and it updated itself automatically. I was on the net surfing in no time. I'm an IT professional, but the software is so easy anybody could do it. I've worked with Dlink, Netgear, etc routers and Linksys Software is by far the best. I would recommend this product for anybody looking for a new router.

Pros: Good signal strength. Easy setup from web base. Works flawlessly with a fujitsu external hard drive formatted NTFS. Both mac and pc connected and was able to read and write to it.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: This is running as a second router behind a wrt54gs and gets more use than the 54gs.Definitely one of the best routers I have used.I have had experience with Dlink, Trendnet and linksys. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Pros: ...Good Idea...
Cons: ...Doesn't Actually Work
Other Thoughts: Storage Link is worthless, unless of the 1,000’s of different USB drives you could possibly own, yours happens to be one of the 22 supported drives! Nowhere does it mention that only 22 drives are supported when you’re purchasing it, but I found it hear: http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=20197&p_created=1248411954&p_sid=n1bz*nGj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NDksNDkmcF9wcm9 I bought this router because of its file storage ability; I have had it over two weeks, working with Linksys and still cannot get it to work properly. The drive finally shows up as a network share, but access is limited to Read Only. I can only view existing files; if I want to add or modify anything I have to disconnect the drive and connect it to a PC, add the files, then reconnect it to the router and then reconfigure all the access permissions! The capability of the router was misrepresented

Pros: I sent away for this on a Wednesday and it was here on a Friday. Can not beat Neweggs service or products. I got it I hooked it up and all six computers where back on line in no time. I like the new sleek look this has. The range this gets is awesome. My computer is on the main level of the house back in a corner. Some computers are on the second floor of the house and the range they are getting is right up to all the green bars. This works great for mixed as stated some have b some have g. No dead zones at all. Picks up the internet with no problems. Can not beat the price. I checked other big name places as well. The either did not have it or something similar was more money.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I did not even use the disk that came with it. I have been using Linksys for many years now. I am using Windows 7 Pro on the main computer. The rest of the computers have XP, and Vista. There are several older computers on my home net work. three Laptops and three desk tops. If you are looking for wireless this could be the one for you. I am very glad I got this linksys. Thanks new egg your shipping is awesome. five eggs for you and the Linksys wireless wrt 160NL. I got this because it will work with older types of wireless adapters or cards. The B, and the G. Plus it brings my connection up to date with the N.

Pros: Lightning fast compared to my previous router. Much better wireless range. Took me ten minutes to set up manually, did not even need the install disc.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I downloaded and installed the latest firmware and reset it before configuring. If you configure it first then you must re-configure it after updating the firmware.
