Turn your regular phone into a Skype phone with D-Link's USB Phone adapter. This handy unit plugs into your PC's USB port and your regular phone jack allowing you to use your phone for both Skype and regular landline calls.
The remote calling features let you save money in two ways. If you are away from the network and need to make a long distance or international call, all you have to do is call your computer and have it make a low-cost SkypeOut call. If you are traveling abroad and need to make a local call, just make a Skype to Skype call and have the unit use your regular phone line to make the call. Either way you save money.

Works like a charm.
- Pros: Installed without a hitch and runs perfectly on XP Pro SP2. I use it with a Vonage line instead of a land line, but the adapter doesn't know the difference. It simply works and works well. USB powered; LEDs tell you if you're in VOIP or PSTN mode. Looks like it was made to go with my silver/black Uniden 5.8GHz cordless phone. I don't know why I didn't go with this months ago. The software has some basic configuration options, but I kept the defaults, which is unlike me. But everything's great as is.
- Cons: New icon in the system tray, ah well. It clicks audibly when switching between VOIP and PSTN modes. It's neither loud nor annoying. But I expected it to be silent, and would have liked it to be. Not enough of a negative to mark it down, though.
- Other Thoughts: To dial as a regular phone (again, works fine with Vonage), you just use the phone as normal. To make a SkypeOut call, you can either a) Dial with the Skype application interface on screen, or b) dial "##" to enter VOIP mode, then "00" (the international access code), then "1-818-555-1212" (the phone number you want to dial), and finally "*" to execute the call. That took all of about six seconds to get down cold. For example, I pick up the handset, dial "##00-1-310-456-7890*" and press Talk. It clicks into VOIP mode, dials everything at once and connects using SkypeOut account. It really is very easy. Taking calls is like taking any other call. It rings...you answer. You can tell if its a Skype call if the lit LED is VOIP, or, of course, if your Skype pops up on screen. Great device, I'd recommend it.
Works GREAT! also running as a System Service
- Pros: The Skype Client does not normally survive a windows user logoff or run when a windows system is logged off. You can do that running this and the Skype client as a system services.
- Cons: Only One of these per computer will function correctly.
- Other Thoughts: For more detail on how to run this device and a Skype client as a system service please go here:

It's ok
- Pros: Allows you to use Skype on a regular home phone.
- Cons: It ONLY works on windows xp and vista 32 bit, not 64 bit.
- Other Thoughts: Laziness not to write some 64 bit drivers. I have 4 pc's, 3 have 64 bit Vista, one has XP, so I have to use this particular pc that is not in the location I intended to use this.
Down Load Software from Web
- Pros: Work Great with software from web site
- Cons: None
Works for me
- Pros: When you finally get it loaded, its great!
- Cons: Sometimes there is an echo, but I think it is a Skype thing because my friend gets it too and she doesn't have the D Link interface, only a Skype phone.
- Other Thoughts: I tried the 1.1 software from D link in a temp file for my windows sp 2. It worked, I went to bed, got up, didn't work anymore. Removed it, downloaded the Robotics USR 9620. It has been working awesome all day. Very cool, once it is set up
