Take your wireless to a new level with the D-Link DIR-625. This draft 802.11n router with RangeBooster N delivers up to 12x faster speeds and 4x farther range than a standard 802.11g router. The award winning QoS (Quality of Service) engine prioritizes traffic to maximize the quality of VOIP calls or online gaming.
Setup is easy with the Quick Router Setup Wizard. The Good Neighbor Policy minimizes interference with existing 802.11g and 802.11b wireless networks.
Keeping your data secure is just as important to a great online experience as speed and range. That's why a full set of encryption options is available including WPA2. Dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT) are included for additional security.
Pros: Never had any problems it works great. This product advertises 4x range 12x speed, please realize will will not get that bonus unless you use a wireless-N card. plus it's more like 2x range and 8x speed but still it's worth it if using an N card. Now another plus is i notice about a 25 percent range boost even in wireless G compared to my old linksys router wrt54gs v2.0. This router is fast and very responsive. also please remember that there were alot of firmware issues cleared up so make sure you upgrade the firmware out-of-the-box for best results.
Cons: Wish it came with High Gain antennas for even greater range.
Other Thoughts: upgrade the firmware as soon as you get it out of the box for best performance

Stable, fast, stable...did I mention stable?
Reviewed By: Ed on 5/9/2007
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Stable stable stable. Fast speeds.
Cons: Nothing that really comes to mind.
Other Thoughts: This router replaced a Linksys box that literally was thrown from my window in frustration. While the Linksys has stable wired connections, any wireless connection would intermittently drop throughout the house, regardless of how close or far it was. My wife was screaming at me to get her connection stable. The 625 has never even required a reboot in the 3 months that I've had it. No dropped connections with heavy gaming and downloading useage and blazing fast speeds. It just needs to work.

Pros: D-Link makes great network components. They have been making quality products for years. I bought a D-Link router 3 years ago and works great. So I bought same router again. Its works just as good as the other.
Cons: None

Solid wireless router
Reviewed By: DaWorstPlaya on 11/17/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Stability and range are 2 reasons you should purchase this router. The router is rock solid stable. I've had it running for almost a year and there hasn't been a single issue. The range on the router is very decent for the price you pay, I've positioned the router at various locations around the house (even extreme corners) and never had a problem with signal reception even through walls.
Speeds seems to be decent, I've had wireless G and N laptops connect at the same time with no noticeable decrease in performance. It supports all the usual encryption protocols, WEP, WPA, WPA2 (AES and TKIP). It also supports hybrid mode for maximum compatibility. I've had it running with the wireless adapter on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with no problems.
You can do the usual port forwarding to various different ports. The web management interface is easy to understand and provides plenty of security options to configure your router. The device runs cool and doesn't have any overheating problems.
Cons: The only slight con I have is, I did have a problem connecting a very old laptop with a very old Dlink 802.11b wireless card. But it was most likely the cards fault as it didn't even support WPA or WPA 2. Not a huge deal as it has worked with everything else.
Other Thoughts: I usually don't post reviews of products until I've had "plenty" of time to play with the product. Since I've owned this product for over a year and haven't had a single problem with it, I'm sure there are others that would love to know this. This is a great no frills home wireless router. Just be sure to upgrade the firmware to the latest version before you start using it.

Skanty Transfer
Reviewed By: Big A on 11/4/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: It is adaptable with other network devices, easy to configure, cheap, works and lasts.
Cons: After trying a updates and several network configurations I am unable to get more than an actual 1.25MB/s or 10Mb/s transfer between a win2k with netgear N wireless at 300Mb/s strong connection to a vista with a belkin wireless g at 54Mb/s stong connection. I've seen this before browsing works great because most web connections are way slower than a wireless connection. And then try a file transfer and it's like your downloading it off the internet from the other room. I mean come on 10Mb/s is no where near the even 54 advertised and considering 1000Mb/s and 10000Mb/s is out there this is ridiculous.
Other Thoughts: The best transfer I had was on 2 wired cat5 rj45 showing 100Mb/s connection got almost avg. 10MB/s or 80Mb/s 80% of possible. Second best was 100Mb/s wired to 300Mb/s wireless at 4MB/s. 54Mb/s to 100Mb/s wired posted about 2Mb/s. And finally N card at 54Mb/s and G at 54Mb/s still posted about 1MB/s. Give me 300Mb/s actual transfer or give me a wired connection or death.
