5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value, Rock Solid Switch

Pros: Easy to install of course, reliable inexpensive switch with a nice indicator panel which is easy to follow linked devices and transmit speeds.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I prefer Netgear large frame business class Routers & Switches but for a value and similar performance these are a great alternative and work well for end point distribution, I use my Netgear for my back-plain and mid-point support.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Price (15). Gigabit connection. Small form factor. No setup needed. Just connect and that's it.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Green light indicates a 1000Mbit connection.

Remember to enable jumbo frame on your computer's NIC to get a better throughput for copying large files.

Note that 1000Mbit/sec is a theoretical limit. Most systems won't be able to sustain this limit. Copying a 4GByte file from a laptop to a desktop PC showed speeds bouncing between 40 MBytes/sec to 99 MBytes/sec. The speed dropped when the source and the target system accessed the disk for read and writes.

My network setup: cable modem ==> router(wireless) ==> switch ==> wired PC's

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!!!

Pros: Auto-Negotiation, Jumbo Frames, PnP, Reduced power and the Price! I bought two last Friday when they were 15 each and free shipping. They work great and have really no heat or other issues so far. I have 2 daisy chained together off a WNDR3700. The one in the garage supports the upstairs and DirecTV Whole Home DVR connection. From there I have Gig to my Home Theater area via CAT 6 outside run to the far side of the house. Before that I used wireless or Ethernet over Power line. Because the PS3 is 54G wireless and the EoP only every got 48mb sometimes streaming would stutter. Now I have a dedicated TRG-S5g and can use gig on my PS3 and Apple TV2. Awsome! Thanks for the great price and free shipping NewEgg! I do networks for a living and really wanted a Cisco 3750G-24 but this was cheaper!

Cons: None so far
