Other Thoughts: Newegg's description says the HD is SATA. Manufacturer's web site says the HD is parallel ATA. Caveat emptor.

bets laptop for under $1000

Pros: The screen is amazing. A little hard to see in direct sunlight just as any type of color screen would be but very impressive otherwise. It's the first thing peoplecompliment on who see it. It's a very responsive system even with 512 megs of ram. It doesn't get too hot like other laptops. It has a very sturdy design.

Cons: You can only upgrade to 1.5 gigs of ram, which isn't that bad but I wish it could be more. It's also DDR333 style which could be better. However, I run mainly audio apps and it handles them very well so I don't think I'll need more than 1.5gigs for a long while. BATTERY LIFE! It lasts only like an hour and a half, maybe a little bit longer but hey, it's a decently powerful system so I'd expect that. Just plan on buying another battery eventually if you are on a budget like I was. Other than that I can't think of much else wrong with it.

Other Thoughts: The windows install disc that Fitsujitsu gives you is actually an ISO image of windows and you have to use the Fujitsu bootable software to load it to the hard drive as well as reformat and restore, etc. It's not that bad thought since it just copies that ISO image to the hard drive which makes reformatting like 30 minitues. The only downside I see with that is they put a few applications on there but they are easily removed. One of the four USB ports is on the side which makes it very easy to plug in my wireless mouse which is handy.

This is a great laptop for the money. Definately the best for under $1000!!! Thanks Newegg! Quick shipping by Newegg as well.

Pros: I ordered this product with 1GB of RAM and 120GB HD. Crystal View is extremely bright and sharp, almost saturation free. Performance is great and very responsive system. This is my first notebook ever and I'm very satisfied. Fujitsu's notebook are the best and most reliable I've heard and I agreed 100%.

Cons: I would say the most notable is the low battery life. Specifications say you get 1.8 hours depending on your configuration...well by the time I was done setting mine up and being fully charged I checked the battery life and it was 1 hour and 18 minutes.

Other Thoughts: Notebook warmed me battery was low at 5% battery life so I immediately plugged in the AC Adapter.
