Acer TravelMate Intel Pentium M 1GB Memory 100GB HDD 14.1" Tablet PC Windows XP Tablet PC Edition TMC314XMi

Pros: I bought this to use as a college computer and it is wonderful. The large HD and RAM allow me to do anything I want, and the DVD/CD burner gives me plenty of storage space. I have installed GoBinder and MS OneNote and now use it for everything--college, work, etc...

Cons: As mentioned in a few other reviews: the HD is partitioned, there is a lot of junk pre-installed (fairly easily removed), and the ram is two sticks--making upgrading a little tougher.

Other Thoughts: Overall and excellent buy.

Pros: Acer developed a great tablet, love the stong swivel hinge and keyboard (with the bios upgrade) works great. This machine has a ton of potential and with the 1 gig mem and 10 Gig Hdd it is a great machine. Even played a little UT 2004 on it. Very happy with my decision to purchase the Acer and as always Newegg came through with quick delivery.

Cons: Don't know if I can call it a con because it is a known fact, it is heavy. Almost should have gone with the Travelmate C200 (Dad has that and loves the size and weight) Also you have to do the Keyboard upgrade on the Acer site other wise you will go crazy because every other keystroke fails to register, Great when doing passwords you can't see :)

Pros: This notebook is great for multi-purpose use (such as school and home use) and it beats competitors price for its features.

Cons: The cons are that the notebook is a bit heavy and the battery life is not that long(i was expecting a longer battery life but i can only get a max of 4hrs)

Other Thoughts: overall i give this product 9 out of 10 stars

Pros: Great computer, fast, easy to upgrade, tablet functionality works very well.

Cons: Hard drive crashed after a month, however Acer was VERY VERY fast to send me a replacement. Haven't had any problems since.

Other Thoughts: Great tablet considering how relatively new tablet technology is. I'm sure they'll get better in the future, but compared to the Tecra M4 (unless you REALLY need higher resolution screen) you can't beat this for the features and the price. I highly recommend it.

Pros: Lots of storage and lots of ram. And price is much lower than what you can get with one of the big names. Wireless works really well. The hinge for the screen does seem pretty strong.

Cons: The only bad thing is, as others said, the hard drive is partitioned and formatting with FAT32. I didn't want to reload everything so I only reformatted the empty drive. Also, the resolution is a little lower than some of the Toshiba's.

Other Thoughts: Don't be thrown off by the cons. This is a great computer. It is as fast as my desktop and is a great buy.

Pros: Excellent desktop replacement laptop.
Port replicator available as optional add-on acer part lc.d0103.004. This allows you to add an expresscard to your system. A good reason to do this is the avermedia tv tuner.

Cons: Biggest and only con is the fact that acer includes 1gb ram, which is great, BUT it is 2x512MB and only 2 ram slots. The 1gb modules are around $450. So to upgrade to 2GB(the max supported memory) you will have to pay almost half the notebook price and have 2 512MB modules to use nowhere - sell them to recoup costs on the upgrade.

Other Thoughts: BUY this notebook, but skip the ezdock option. the expresscard uses the usb2.0 bus and you can buy cheaper tv tuner's that are USB 2.0 for cheaper and not have to dock the notebook to use that function.

Pros: -Very Fast for a Tablet
-No Setup Time at All
-I did a lot of research into other tablets and this is the best one I could find for a desktop replacement.
-For an XGA screen, I was shocked at how clear it is. The screen is definitely not a limiting factor. I can view it at even an almost parallel angle to the computer.
-Very long battery life (+4hrs)

Cons: -Screen Refresh Rate max is 60Hz at 1024x768, but I've worked on the computer for hours with no strain on my eyes

Other Thoughts: -The Acer Tablet PC software is highly customizable for accessibility
-The computer has a very sleek look and the hinge is very strong, "the strongest one for a tablet PC" according to one review I read.

Pros: Great gear for any student on the go. Writing is natural and easy... better than paper. Notebook is extreamly well equipped for the price. Best value by far.

Cons: Too many startup programs by default.

Comments: I got a C300 (older model) from Newegg in March.

I just want to say how much I love this tablet. It is fully functional as a laptop, and useful in meetings as a tablet. It's a little big, but the battery life is great.

Comments: I had researched in detail for tablets. I use this for just about everything, note taking, CAD, Proe, rocksim, Halo. This is an excellent machine! The specs say it all, granted the size and weight are a little big for a tablet, but if you use MS Journal the screen will fit an 8 .5 " x 11" no problem. I've run it for 5 hours, no problem, it will turn a lot of heads too when you switch to tablet mode. Remember when purchasing a notebook, or tablet: You want one that will have excellent specs for hardware so it is future proofed, but you will want one that also has excellent battery life, the only thing I wish was that one of these would come with a Turion MT series processor.
