REBATE center just stuck it to me
- Pros: Good screen, battery life, nice size HD, DVD burner comes in handy when my main machine is tied up. Wireless works well.
- Cons: Rebate center just wrote me and said they don't have my original receipt. So now I am out my ORIGINAL UPC and a hundie. thanks for nothing. Buyer beware, you might do what I now do and just pick one that is marginally more but no rebates to deal with.

Does everything well. Installed Google Earth and it runs it well with no hicups.

Good notebook
- Pros: -the cinematic widescreen feels so good
-1280x800 resolution
-not too heavy.
-keyboard feels good in hands, thought just a bit flimsy
-DVD writer (can't praise it enough. mine is 8x and I used it extensively on a month long trip to record the gigabytes of pictures I was producing using my DSLR)
- Cons: not really, not a whole lot. The power management is microsoft compliant thus I could not configure it for linux. Thus when in linux, the battery meter does not work. The sound quality is not greatest, but what do you expect in a laptop anyways. They could have taken the plastic around the screen off and made the whole laptop about a inch less in both width and length.
- Other Thoughts: instead of mucking with installing linux myself, asked the local linux guru to do it for me. He configured the whole thing incluing the display, sound, networking (wired and wireless). Had a issue with apm or acpi (I don't exactly remember). You need to turn it off for linux kernel to boot.
