Pros: Great system. Not a lot of bloat. Runs multiple office applictions with ease. Screen resolution as good as my HDMI desktop resolution. Friends with much more expensive laptops haIve commented on how great my screen resolution is. Keyboard is comfortable.
Cons: Gets warm after several hours of use.
Other Thoughts: I recommend purchasing a blue tooth mouse to use with this. A national pc mag just rated the 20 in version of this as their top pick in laptops.

Pros: excellent hardware specs, good build quality, plenty of useful features. The "add-on bloat" was easy enough to get rid of. vista has crisp performance. have not had a software or hardware problem with this machine.
Cons: to be honest, i have no regrets on this purchase.
Other Thoughts: i bought this for my fiance. we have been playing COD4 and with this machine she is kicking, um, rear. it gets warm during high utilization, but we spent 20 bucks on a laptopcooler and that keeps it cool enough. its light, sturdy, has great hardware, everything "just works" and was under 1000. Thank you Acer and New Egg.

Pros: The specs on this laptop are outstanding when you look at the price (I got it here on Newegg, which tends to have the cheapest price on this particular laptop). The harddrive is huge, it has a core 2 duo processor, it's packed with RAM, and the video card with its own memory simply can't be passed up. So many other laptops in this price range come with that shoddy on-board card that can barely play any games at all.
Some of the software Acer packs on here is actually useful! I've already made use of the NTI DVD burner and I've gotta say I'm relieved I don't need to go out and pick one up. I can't wait to test out Dual Layer burning.
There's lots of USB ports available on it, and the s-video out works fabulously.
Cons: Vista is definitely a con, though since Acer has outfitted this laptop correctly, Vista actually runs fairly decently on here.
The touch-sensitive buttons are WAY too sensitive and a bit annoying. I'm sure there is a way to configure them, but since I don't know Acer's software or Vista well at all I just haven't found the right application yet to do it, I think.
It would have been nice if there was a firewire port on here somewhere.
Other Thoughts: Not sure why other people have complained about it running hot. It doesn't seem to be any hotter than my Macbook was. There are special laptop trays available to help with ventilation so your laps don't get hot.
This is definitely a great laptop to pick up if you don't need the newest hardware available, but want something decent enough that if you do decide to play a game it won't lag.
It'll run games like Psychonauts, Portal, and World of Warcraft pretty easily, and doesn't have issues with some of the more memory-intensive graphics programs (except where Vista incompatibilities come into play).
This computer isn't really worth it if you are only browsing or doing a bit of word processing, but if you're doing anything multimedia-wise like watching videos, playing games, building websites, etc., this laptop is a good one to look into.
