Pros: Have had no problems with this laptop. I use it for cad work. For the money it must be one of the best buys.

Cons: As with other laptops I would like to see the charging cord and tranformer more compact for travel.

Pros: price; signle 512MB stick to make easy upgrade to 1GB (opposite to trashy 2x256 popular in mainstream brands); ghetto stickers easy to peal off; 64-bit CPU.

Cons: default video drivers don't allow for proper second display with desktop extension (somehow end up messing up resolution of the main screen); AMD's PowerNow! annoyingly downclocks the CPU without a reason, even when plugged-in - can be fixed by manually configuring power management; absence of DVI-out;

Other Thoughts: fine for the price.

Pros: Feels like a nice solid machine.

Cons: My review title sums up the lesson I've learned since buying this laptop. After a week of ownership, I discovered I had a bad harddrive when the system suddenly crashed on me. I spent the next week or so troubleshooting the problem myself. Once I was convinced of the problem, I called the ABS tech support number listed in the manual that came with the laptop. Now I had to convince them. I spent the next couple of weeks downloading 3rd-party utilities and trying other suggested procedures for correcting the problem. When none of it worked, and I finally told them I'd done enough tech support of my own device, they finally agreed to replace the harddrive. What I really suspect is that they were just trying to wait out Newegg's return policy. Now they're giving me the runaround again, asking for my credit card number in order to purchase a replacement harddrive as part of the RMA.

Other Thoughts: Simply put, I could've forgone all of the headaches and delays and had a new laptop by now. Instead, I'm still waiting for the replacement parts for a brand new machine so I can INSTALL THEM MYSELF!

Here's another lesson for you as well: don't buy ABS. Do use Newegg, they're still the best!
