4 out of 5 eggsWorks pretty well with Vista

Pros: Pretty easy to setup and get working with a Dell Dimension laptop running Vista. All other USB devices are plugged into the dock and working fine.

Cons: In terms of mirroring the video between the laptop and LCD connected to this dock, it's a little sketchy. Most of the time we have to go into the Kensington Dock tray menu system, select Mirror and hope it works. It would be nice if the driver would remember mirroring the video as the default behavior.

Other Thoughts: Just fix the default video behavior and this product would be much more user friendly.

4 out of 5 eggsHas worked well for me

Pros: Works with different types of notebooks. Only one cable to connect/disconnect. Network, audio and any USB devices I have plugged in to the dock have worked without any problems at all. The network speed is faster than any of the built in wireless G interfaces.

Cons: Video resolution for the display connected to the expansion dock is tied to the video resolution for the notebook.

Other Thoughts: I'm not aware of a good solution that will work for different types of notebooks using a single cable to connect/disconnect that works better. I did a lot of shopping around in 2006 and did not find anything even close to this. At the time of purchase (I bought two of these on two different dates in 2007) Newegg had the best price I could find.

1 out of 5 eggshorrible customer service, missing basic usage

Pros: None

Cons: Kensington is not a real reputable support company. I was treated unbelievably when calling their support. Absolute 0.

The item in question is not an intelligent device - it cannot have one resolution on the montior and swith to a different resolution to the mirrored external monitor. Very dissapointing.

Drivers on the disk were useless. Had to download new drivers

Other Thoughts: Support - seriously?

5 out of 5 eggsWould like to help Tim

Pros: Works great with XP, that includes the Graphics and Video over USB.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: www.displaylink.com for help with graphics installation issues and diver updates.

2 out of 5 eggsdon't bother

Pros: works well as a usb hub

Cons: video constantly stops working and I have to reinstall drivers on a weekly basis. ethernet periodically stops as well and I have to power cycle the unit to get it to work.

Other Thoughts: We bought two of these and they both exhibit this behaviour. we no longer even try to use the video.

5 out of 5 eggsNotebook Dock

Pros: Product worked immediately out of the box, using a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop running Windows XP Pro. External monitor (CRT) is clear, even in high resolution. Very pleased with this product.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This needs to be less expensive, but for video this is the best product I have seen.

Pros: Works as a usb hub and external sound device with Vista.

Cons: Could not get my monitor to work when plugged into the docking station. I am using Vista though...

Other Thoughts: Just too expensive.
