Without proper ventilation, your notebook is forced to work overtime trying to keep the system from overheating. This causes your fans to kick into high speed, hurts performance and lowers battery life. The BYTECC NC-500 aluminum notebook cooling pad solves these problems.

Its lightweight aluminum housing allows for good thermal heat dissipation, while twin, self-changeable ball-bearing fans with built-in fan guards pull heat away from the hottest areas of your laptop. The fans spin between 3,200rpm and 3,500rpm to keep them from creating excessive noise. However, an on/off switch is built in should you want to shut them off entirely. They're also USB powered, keeping you from needing a separate power source for them. The pad itself is angled up at the back to allow for a more ergonomic typing angle.

  • newegg Lightweight Aluminum Construction The BYTECC Notebook Cooling Pad NC-500 features an aluminum housing for excellent heat dissipation and carriable lightness.
  • newegg Two Built-in Ball Bearing Fans Two ball bearing fans enhance heat dissipation and feature an ON/OFF power switch for manual fan control.
  • newegg Compatible with 17-inch Notebooks With dimensions of 13.3" x 10.3", the BYTECC Notebook Cooling Pad NC-500 is perfect for use with 17-inch notebooks.
  • newegg Powered by USB The BYTECC Cooling pad plugs into your notebook's USB port directly and does not require a power adapter for usability anywhere you go!

4 out of 5 eggsBytecc cooling pad

Pros: It's very effective in a way. I like it because it's made of

aluminum for durability. I also like that it's tilted it down

toward me. this allows me to type better with my laptop. I

also like the two rubbers placed on the pad to help reduce

nose. This also helps give some space between my laptop

and the cooling pad for a more effective air flow. My

previous 80$ dollar cooling pad was useless and less

effective. In simple term "THIS IS THE BEST COOLING PAD I

HAD EVER USED FOR THE BEST PRICE AROUND".

Cons: the only con is that over a long term use it start to get louder. although those noes are still suitable for any quite environment. Not much to complain about. One other cons is that the fan is not where I want to be for most effective cooling. The hottest part is where my hard drive is located. I guess it my fault.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Cooler I've Had

Pros: Quiet and effective.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This cooler keeps my 1TB nice and cool in my laptop; it runs quiet and it is worth the $20 I paid for it. The cords are thick and sturdy and the extra USB extension actually works (last cooler didn't)

5 out of 5 eggsgets the job done

Pros: Has lasted for over 2 years with both fans still going strong.

Cons: The front ledge blocks the audio jack on my laptop. not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: I have had other coolers that haven't lasted as long as this one and I use this thing for at least a couple of hours each day.

3 out of 5 eggsWhatevers

Pros: Made from aluminum. Low cost

Cons: It cools so long as your intake and HDD is directly in the center of the notebook - mine wasn't so it didn't cool anything very well.

Other Thoughts: You would be better off with the Coolermaster NotePal U3 because the fans can be moved to any spot on the cooler to accommodate any laptop size and configuration.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: Cheap, lightweight

Cons: Loud fans, inefficient cooling

Other Thoughts: I bought this cooler after reading the review of several other competitive products and figured I had nothing to lose for the price. After only a couple days of non-stop use, I opted to return it because the fans were way too noisy, and the little bit of air movement they generated was not cooling my device. What stinks is that I had to pay a restocking fee and S&H to send it back for a refund. I should've just sprung for the one I considered for more $.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Cooler

Pros: I have had this cooler for over 2 years. In the meantime, I have gone through 3 or 4 other coolers, but this one is still kicking. Not only has it survived a lot better than the other coolers that I have had, but I also think it has done a better job of keeping my computer cool.

Cons: While this cooler is nice and sturdy w/o being expensive, it isn't very comfortable for sitting on your lap. If you sit it on your lap, you will probably want to have some kind of cushion between you and it because the aluminum stand will dig into your legs over time.

4 out of 5 eggsNotebook cooler

Pros: *Inexpensive
*USB power only, no need for external power
*I ran this 24/7 for about a year and one of the fans finally died.

Cons: Sharp edges that may scratch your table.

3 out of 5 eggsTalk about bare-bones...

Pros: Great price. Easy to use design. Pretty light for what it is.

Cons: This item is definitely made cheaply. I don't even want to say inexpensively. Looking at the connections and how it is constructed, I am surprised the thing works at all! If you want an aluminum cooler, I would tell you to go for an upgrade and spend the money for something better quality.

Other Thoughts: Even knowing how cheaply this is designed and connected, I would probably still buy it for my mobile solution. Even if the fans stop working, I am sure the aluminum will help in keeping my lappy cool.

3 out of 5 eggsHonesty is job one

Pros: Nice design nice price

Cons: The seller claims This will prevent your notebook fans from kicking into high speed hurting performance and lowering battery life" as IF plugging a dual turboprop fan platform into your notebooks USB plug is going to magically EXTEND your battery life.

Other Thoughts: On MY planet a built in notebook fan thermostating cool-off spin faster mode versus slow mode uses less power than three fans. Which version of the laws of physics applies on your planet? I just don't care for lying marketing people who boldly make stuff up as they go.
