The Cooler Master RL-HUC-E8U1 liquid-cooling system is an all-in-one solution for keeping your computer cool without the need for a large number of case fans. Installation is simplified thanks to its design flexibility. If your computer case has two vacant 5.25-inch drive bays, the main assembly can be installed up front. Or, if your desktop has an open power supply bay the unit can be installed there. No space inside? The unit can be kept externally as well.
The unit's three-speed adjustable cooling fan allows you to control both noise levels and cooling performance. It spins as slow as 2,000rpm generating 23dBA of noise, but under heavy loads, it can be pushed up to 3,100 or 4,600rpm. The complete package includes an LCD that can be mounted in your desktop's front panel for real-time system monitoring. The specialized cooling liquid’s temperature is customizable and the display will give you a CPU temperature warning and let you know when water levels are low.
Thanks to the assortment of included motherboard adapters, the cooling block can be used with AMD K7 (socket 462), K8 (socket 754/939/940) and Intel Pentium 4 (socket 478 / LGA 775) processors. Everything you need to get up and running, including coolant, tubes and cables, is included.

Surprisingly Good
- Pros: Looks great in my Coolermaster Stacker case, nice display, comes with just about everything you need in one package, and the price is way cheaper at newegg than anywhere else. Three fan settings, blue back-lit display matches the blue lights I have elsewhere in my case, quick disconnect fittings are convenient, and the ability to continue to cool the computer for a set time after shutdown is a great bonus. All in all I have been pleasantly surprised with the capabilities of this product. Add a 120mm radiator to this set up and it will surpass almost all your cooling needs.
- Cons: The reservoir fill port is a pain to get to when installed. The quick disconnects allow the Aquagate to be removed from the case for filling without loosing liquid, but when you connect and disconnect them few dribbles come out. I made my hoses long enough that I don’t have to disconnect them to slide the Aquagate out for refilling. The hoses and fittings are all ¼ inch ID. I would like larger hoses but they work. The unit does “freak out” if the temperature probe isn’t connected. I broke the tip of the probe when installing it so the Aquagate would shut down my computer when on for about 30 seconds, it’s a safety mechanism, but it’s annoying when trying to figure out why it’s beeping. Coolermaster gave me the run around on replacing the thermal probe, so I finally gave up on them and took an on-board probe off of an old motherboard I had and soldered it in place of the broken temp probe. Be careful the probe doesn’t get between the water block and the CPU or it will get crushed.
- Other Thoughts: I was concerned with using such a small radiator for all cooling so I placed a Thermaltake CL-W0002 12cm radiator in the cooling loop. With this set up I OCed my Pentium D 840 from 3.2Ghz to 3.8Ghz and kept my temps at 32° C idle, 39-42° C full load, and around 36°C after a few hours of Quake 4 on Ultra settings. All with the Aquagate and Thermaltake fan on lowest settings. There’s plenty of cooling available for a more extreme OC but I’m saving the extra heat dissipating capacity to water cool my SLI 7900GTs. I used Arctic Silver on the block, but it comes with thermal grease. You loose a PCI slot with this kit, it might cause a problem for some. If using a 775 processor you have to take the motherboard out to put the backing plate on. The Aquagate fan on its highest setting sounds like it’s about to take flight, but lowest fan speed is plenty. There is just enough fluid provided with the kit to fill a setup like mine. Thanks to a little help from Thermaltake this system get’s an A+.
awesome looking, ok cooling
- Pros: This is an ok product, it looks great but by itself it doesn't cool any better than an AC freezer pro. Temps were almost exactly the same. E6600 at 3.6, hit, 70 on TAT. Now add some more cooling like an addition of a 12cm radiator and fan, it does really well and I couldn't be happier. So if you're not going to overclock, it's great, if OC, then add cooling and it works great.
- Cons: Doesn't cool better than a decent air cool unit, like an AC freezer pro
- Other Thoughts: Add an addition radiator, and you got a system that works well

Great Value
- Pros: Great entry level water-cooling with performance worth the money spent compared to other expensive kits. Dropped temps from low 50c to high 20c.
- Cons: 1/4" ID tubing. Hard to upgrade with a second radiator without adapters. Little difficult for internal installation.
- Other Thoughts: Make sure your cpu block fittings are on tight. Ran the system and forgot to tighten mine, ended up with a hair dryer and paper towels to clean up mess.
great bang for the buck
- Pros: Considering the often high price of even entry level water cooling components, this is an excellent price for a pre-assembled and easy to use water cooling system
- Cons: As noted by others, stock tubing is way too stiff, plastic clamps look easily breakable. Unit is louder than the stock fans in my Antec Sonata case(stock, it is built to be a quiet case) and a bit distracting.
- Other Thoughts: Won't go back to air cooling. I think I have the water cooling bug and am now tempted to build my own system and spend way too much money doing it.
FANTASTIC VALUE!
- Pros: It's quiet on the lowest setting. This is a VERY efficent cooling device. On the highest setting, I can overclock my e6400 to over 3ghz, stable!
- Cons: It took over an hour to install, correctly. The fan can get VERY loud, if you're heavily overclocking your processor.
- Other Thoughts: Got this for $xx after MIR!
Oh, and don't use the temperature gauge that came with this thing... it slips off your motherboard very easily, if you use the tape they provided. Just watch the water temperature!
