Does the job well
- Pros: Nice cooler.
- Cons: none that comes to mind...
Great cooling, but it's heavy
- Pros: Back when I used this on my P4 2.8ghz it ran nice and cool, 36c max, undervoltaging helped me get it that cool stably. This thing can cool like no tomorrow. There is just so much copper and surface area it's ridiculous.
- Cons: Some motherboards have rotated cpu sockets, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. The coolers base will only install in one direction or facing 180 degrees the other way, The directional-shrouding that holds the fan only fits on in 2 of 4 orientations as well. see where I'm going with this?
Depending on your motherboard this unit will face either sideways *or* vertical. My first motherboard it was ideal and vented out the back, my 2nd motherboard wasn't so lucky and shot warm air up into the psu.
Looking at the holes on a 478 with the case standing up: If it's a rectangle laying down (width>height) this Heatsink might not be for you as it will only mount blowing air up or down!
Installation made me screamish the first time around, you get used to it.
Thin fins collect dust easily... so hard to clean since to remove the fan you have to remove the motherboard to access it's screws. Devise a way around this and install the screws backwards on the fan :)
Heavy, support it with a spring i
- Other Thoughts: Despite the cons you can still modify it or take off the fan-shroud, be creative!
I wonder if this heatsink had something to do with my failed gigabyte board... I'm taking my chances and reusing it, you can't beat it's performance.
- Pros: Your able to run two 80mm fans. One pulling, and the other pushing. Im only running one fan. With an 80mm fan , things can get alittle noisy. As far as the heat sink goes, it works , but didnt really lower my CPU temps as much as I thought it should have. Maybe lowered it by 3 or 4c . CPU is running 47c or 118 F @ an idle
- Cons: I had to take my M/B apart to install this giant. This Heat/S isnt for the faint of Heart. It also weights a ton. If you get this Heat/S , You should look into ways to support the weight of it, rather than letting the M/B carry it all. I ran into intermitten problems with my PC just shuting down or not turing on. Later on I found out that the H/S was pulling my CPU out of the socket...I got Lucky!!! No damage was done.
- Other Thoughts: Asus P4 800 DE delux 2.8 prescott 2 gigs of ram GForce 7800GT

Introduction
Whether you're running a stock computer or have built your dream machine from the motherboard up, heat is a constant threat to your investment. Thermaltake is the leading innovator in CPU cooling solutions with strikingly stylish designs that work as good as they look. The Thermaltake CL-P0024 Tower 112 is a pure copper column designed to remove damaging excess heat from your CPU quickly and efficiently.
Designed for the do-it-yourselfer, the Tower 112 is compatible with Intel LGA775 and Pentium 4 processors as well as AMD K7, K8 and Sempron series CPUs. It rises from your motherboard on three U-shaped sealed 6mm copper heattubes that are embedded in the pure copper base and transfer heat up to the 59 copper fins of the convection array.
The through-flow configuration of the fins allows for uninterrupted airflow across their large surface area for optimal heat dissipation. Catering to the enthusiast's desire for flexibility and complete customization, the Tower 112 can mount up to a pair of 8cm or 9cm fans to provide the desired airflow and noise level.
