Thermaltake CL-P0092 90mm 1 Ball, 1 Sleeve Cooling Fan

  • 2500 ±10% RPM
  • 42.91 CFM
  • Aluminum Fin, Copper Tube
ICON Loading...

Thermaltake continues to bring innovative solutions to CPU cooling challenges. The CL-P0092 "Silent 775" combines multiple features for optimal cooling of high-powered CPUs. The iridescent fan moves an impressive 43CFM of cooling air. Its funneled shroud creates a higher pressure to increase cooling. The mounting bracket on the cooler accepts other 90mm funneled fans as well as 80mm fans for maximum flexibility for your modding needs.

The base of the cooler is made of copper for optimal thermal conductivity as it rests directly against the chip's heat spreader to draw away damaging excess heat. Two seamlessly soldered heatpipes rise from the base to penetrate the aluminum cooling fin array above for maximum heat transfer and dissipation.

The Silent 775 easily mounts without tools by using spring screws and includes a safety back plate to protect the motherboard from weight related stress fractures. The Silent 775 is specifically designed to efficiently cool Intel Socket LGA775 processors.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The Thermaltake CL-P0092 features innovatively-designed copper heatpipes, coupled with a large copper base and high-density fins, for excellent heat dissipation. Plus a 90mm, 2500RPM cooling fan maximizes airflow for superior cooling performance.
  • newegg Adjustable Fan Speed With a 3-pin connector, the Thermaltake CL-P0092 supports fan speed monitoring so you can fine tune the fan speeds for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.

3 out of 5 eggsA little loud and inconvenient

Pros: Seems to blow air thru fins.

Cons: This cooler makes removing CPU a problem because backing plate which is on other side of motherboard falls off when fan is removed. This will require you to remove motherboard to re-install CPU fan.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great! .....with some work

Pros: Small size, fits well in compact spaces. Quiet Fan

Cons: Mating surface of heatsink was machined very rough.

Other Thoughts: I bought this heatsink and slapped it on my P4D 840 which was overheating w/ the stock cooler on 80+ degree ambient days. At first I was extremely dissappointed as the temperature was hardly any better. Then I took it off and realized just how horrible of a surface the processor sat against. I took some 800 and then some 1500 grit sandpaper and sanded the base of the heatsink smooth. Dropped my idle temps from 55 to around 42, and my load temps are now in the 50-53 range.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling (TBOOS)

Pros: Works as advertised. Keeps my P-930D at 28C idle, 42C full load. Replaced stock HSF that was running 45C idle, to 75C loaded.

Cons: The installation directions that come with the HSF do not explain the care needed when tightening the spring loaded fasteners. Fan seems to be pretty slow and intermittent to me should be able to get up to about 1800 RPM but does not.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical when I received this HSF, but now I want to get another one and there out of stock. You will be surprised how this thing really works lame fan and all. I have a 94Y chipset not the cool 95 that NE had in stock last month, so I consider myself lucky to have gotten a good 930D.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Metal

Pros: When mounted on the mainboard it is not falling off..screw mount with X brace behind board..one side insulated and easy to install. This is my third purchase of this item from Newegg. Also I have found that by sliding a piece of foam Mouse Pad down behind the mainboard you can remove this thing without removing the board. It is the cooling soulution of my choice for any the intel 775.

Cons: Bell fan that comes with unit is useless for some the intel 775 processors. I have the 945 and 950 dual core also an older Prescott all running a 3.4ghz. I order 3 of these things from Newegg over the years. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: No matter what anyone says..you can not mount a piece of metal on these new processors and expect them to run cool. Almost all the Tech sites agree that there is need of a higher speed fan for cooling. I use variable speed fans that peak out at about 4500rmp with a sensor. The sensor is tricky to mount on this Thermaltake heatsink but is very effective when used. By replacing the bell fan with an 80mm variable with sensor I have had no problems with over heating for sometime. Newegg sells some good thermaltake variable speed fans with sensors. The sensor should be placed only on the outer bottom edge of the heatsink, keep it out and away from the socket or lockdown housing..else you have problems. We play all kinds of the big PC Games..RS_Vegas. FEAR, ect..and there is some Fan noise from the Computer but more noise from the games. I just recently purchased one of these from newegg along with the 945 intel dual core..idle at 109F_3000rmp and when playing VEGAS about 135F_4000rmp.

5 out of 5 eggsGood HS/Fan

Pros: This is a great unit. While not completly ' silent ' it's actually quieter than the 80 mm exhuast fan in my case. Great airflow and heat exchange, copper base, AND spring mounted screws. I've bought 2 of these, and have had nothing but great performance with both.

Cons: Can be abit tricky to mount, while the spring loaded screws make a perfect seal and hold tight, they do require some force to push down and screw in. They need to be mounted in, in a certain order to help ensure a flat, air-pocket free flush mount. Screw 1 corner, then the opposite corner, next, and then the other opposite corner, then go back and tighten them down.

Other Thoughts: True it's not silent, it's still very quiet. I've had 1 for over a year, and the other one for about 2 months. Both still performing excellently.

Using Arctic Silver ceramique paste on both also.

5 out of 5 eggsFan Is UV reactive

Pros: Solid Copper core, Fan Gives off a nice blue glow if you have blue led on your case fan. Keeps my core 2 duo idle 27c full load 33c. Nice screw design instead of those terrible plastic clips.

Cons: Having to remove the whole motherboard to remove this cooler

Other Thoughts: ***VERY IMPORTANT*** i also was using artic silver 5
I originally was going to purchase the artic cooling freezer pro but they were temp out of stock i didnt want to use the stock so i got this cooler locally and was more than pleased with the result but if i was doing some major ocing this would not be the cooler to get only if your were gonna run stock speed or just a tad ocing then get this nice and cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsSo much better than stock

Pros: I wish I had this when I first got my Core 2 processor. It's running at 35C max. W/ the stock intel cooler my CPU was 58C. The spring screw mounts are great.

Cons: You can hear it but of course you can adjust the fan speed if the noise is an issue.

Other Thoughts: Very happy w/ the product. The stock Intel's mounts were horrible and didn't do a thing to protect my investment in their product. Conspiracy? Bad fans make processors life shorter and there fore must by more Intel chips?

2 out of 5 eggsNot a quiet fan

Pros: Somewhat quieter than the stock P4 631 CPU cooling fan the system came with.

Cons: Featuring 'silent' as a selling point for this fan is deceptive. 'Not as loud as some others' would be a better way to put it. If your are looking to significantly reduce noise, this fan will likely dissapooint. Measured 54 db in front of PC with case closed and fan running. Too loud for me. Also difficult to install because fan must be removed from heatsink in order to install heatsink on CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsWoks as Described

Pros: Works just the way its supposed to. I know that alot of people are havinf problems with it but I guess I got lucky because it keeps my dual core cool and it runs quiet.

Cons: No instructions so if you dont know how to install a fan you will have to google it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU Cooler!

Pros: Lowered my Intel Pentium D processor temp by over 15 degrees! Very quiet fan, moves alot of air. Fit perfectly on my mother board. Powering directly off the board.

Cons: No instructions, but if you don't know how to install it, you really shouldn't be buying it anyway.

Other Thoughts: Buy it! All those people that say that this fan doesn't work probably didn't install it right. Use Artic Silver 5 Compound between the CPU and the heatsink.
