Big
- Pros: very BIG!!! Nice easy Installation...
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: thermal take should remove the extra metal thing on top of the radiator it looks like one of those thins to hang them up on publix!!!!!!
Big Radiator=cheap cooling
- Pros: Did the same combo with the CM Aquagate when it had the mail-in rebate. For less than seventy bucks I now have complete water cooling. Before the big radiator I was running 32 idle and 37-39 load (Cm unit alone-low fan speed) with an OC'd P4 pressy core. Now it stays at 26 idle and 32 load with all of the fans at low. Mind you my system and ambient temps are at 26 as well.
- Cons: Thing is big, still fit in my Ultra Aluminus over the exhaust port, but I had to mount it upside down and use worm-drive hose clamps to integrate it with the CM Unit. And yes the fan is very loud when turned-up, be sure to hook up some sort of fan controller. These barely qualify as cons tho, but I had to put something down here.
- Other Thoughts: This can not be beat for the money, you can't even buy a 120mm radiator for this amount of cash. Gotta love the egg!!!
Works Great
- Pros: I put this in with a Coolermaster Aquagate system and I love it. I've been able to overclock a Pentium D 840 to 3.8Ghz while keeping it a chilly 32 C idle and between 39 and 42 C full load. See my Aquagate review.
- Cons: The radiator is much bigger than 120mm,. The fan is 120mm not the radiator but that’s just more heat dissipating area. Even in a huge Coolermaster Stacker case I had to compromise on where I installed it. The fan on the highest setting sounds like a plane about to take flight, but I haven’t needed more than the lowest setting. There was no compression fittings that fit the tube provided with the Aquagate kit, but it’s a Thermaltake product not Coolermaster.
- Other Thoughts: I’ve been really pleased with my setup so far. This extra fan and radiator allows the Aquagate to perform far beyond its original capacities. A setup like mine could easily cool the CPU and two graphics cards in SLI, which is what I intend to do. I had to use my Dremel on the compression fittings to make them fit the outside diameter of my tubing. I couldn’t fit this radiator in place of my 120mm exhaust fans like I planned, without hitting my motherboard or the top of the case. I didn’t want to mount it externally, so it’s now in the front on the very bottom, blowing all the hot air through the grills on the front of my CM Stacker. It get’s 5 eggs from me!
