The Zalman CNPS 7000B AlCu, features a quiet, downward blowing 92mm ball bearing fan at the heart of a radial array of aluminum and copper convection fins. Blue LEDs give the impression of an alien powersource as they reflect off the metallic fins and demonstrate Zalman's reputation for combining style and functionality.

While the fan operates at a low 27.5 dBA in its normal 2600 RPM setting, its Silent Mode drops it nearly 50% to 18 dBA as well as eliminating vibration. The included FAN MATE controller lets you control the fan's operating mode. With its unrestricted flow, it cools not only the CPU, but the RAM, VGA card, Northbridge and other nearby components.

Heat is drawn away from the CPU by the pure copper base of the heatsink and it is transferred up into the twin semi-circular arrays of aluminum and copper fins for dissipation. The 7700B AlCu is 2/3's the weight of the pure copper model which reduces stress damage to the motherboard. It's compatible with Intel Socket 478 Pentium 4 CPUs but can be used on Socket 775 processors with the purchase of the ZM-CS1 Clip Support. It will also support a wide variety of AMD Duron, Athhlon and Sempron chips straight from the box.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance The extra-large base made of pure copper and aluminum conducts heat fast, plus a large 92mm dual-ball bearing LED fan to deliver superior cooling performance.
  • newegg Adjustable Fan Speed The ZALMAN CNPS7000B-AlCu LED comes with a fan speed controller (Fan Mate 2) so you can fine tune the fan speeds for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.

5 out of 5 eggsCan you say WOW?

Pros: I read all the reviews for this product so I was expecting a lot. I really wanted the all copper model but I guess it's on back order right now so it wasn't available. Either way, I ended up getting this product in today. I was really having a lot of problems with my old heatsink and fan. It was the one that came from intel with the processor.

My CPU was running really hot, upwards up 170 degrees Fahrenheit when it was cranking out hard work and 140 degrees when idle.

Within one minute of having the new heatsink and fan in place my processor was reading at 110 degrees idle!!!!!!!

This is actually MUCH BETTER than I expected!

Cons: This really isn't a CON, but I'm not a fan (no pun intended LOL) of LED lights. This isn't the fan's fault but the one without LEDs was sold out, so I had to get this one instead.

Other Thoughts: BUY THIS PRODUCT if you want one that works without fail!

5 out of 5 eggsBy golly it fit!

Pros: Actually fit in the TT Lanbox Lite w/Gigabyte MicroATX mobo. Fins don't hit or contact anything else in the case, I'm actually very surprised.

Cons: Blue LED clashes with Red LED PSU. But you can't win em all. I had originally ordered the 92mm Zalman with no LEDs, but it was backordered.

Other Thoughts: Make sure that if you are using a Socket 775 you will need to order the Zalman ZM-CS1 clip. When tightening the cooler down, its kind of important to do a little on each side. Screwing down one side all the way without doing the other a bit first could cause the mobo to crack from the strain.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected!

Pros: I have been wanting to reduce the noise level on my 3.0 GHz Athlon 64 for months, but did not want to spend a bundle. This was a perfect choice! This is the best CPU cooler I have ever purchased! It fit perfectly, was very simple (almost idiot-proof) to install, is inexpensive, is very effective at cooling, very quiet, and (for us techie geeks) is very attractive.

Newegg is unbelievable - I ordered this at 8:30 PM Tuesday night and received it with standard shipping by 5:00 PM Thursday afternoon!!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Almost had a clearance problem with the first ram module on my ECS 755-A5 motherboard, but there is just a hair of clearance. I'm sure I could have cut of a millimeter of a few fins had I needed to, but that turned out to be unnecessary. if I upgrade ram later I will have to remove the HSF to get the ram out, but considering how simple it is to install this cooler, that will not be any effort at all. I'll just have to make sure I have some thermal paste on hand when I do it.

Bought a matching Zalman VGA cooler and was equally impressed.

3 out of 5 eggsClogs easily with dust

Pros: Cool design. Provides good balance between being cool and quiet at a decent price.

Cons: This heat sink is easily clogged with dust with where the fins converge at the base. While initially this heatsink cools better than stock, over time dust will eventually clog the fins making it worst.

If you are in a dusty environment, expect periodic cleanings to keep this heatsink up to par.

Other Thoughts: In hindsight, I would rather just have used the stock system because the fins are spread apart more so it doesn't trap as much dust. I would have had my processor about 5 degrees hotter, but wouldn't have to worry about maintenance.

The 120 mm or all copper versions might provide a better alternatives.

5 out of 5 eggsStill running smooth

Pros: I've had this running over my old AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego CPU (yes, I know... I'm in dire need of an upgrade) for about 2.5 years now and it still runs great. The fan is quiet and keeps the CPU at a manageable temperature.

Cons: All but 1 of the LED lights have died.

Other Thoughts: Arctic Silver thermal compound is a must.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Zalman

Pros: Quiet, lightweight (not like copper one) and efficient. Be carefull when installing.

Cons: None. Its not cons but it applies in my opinion too much stress on the CPU and motherboard.

Other Thoughts: For a loooong time I was purchasing only Zalman cooling devices. I like very much this design. I would recommend this to everyone. And avoid Copper, go to Alu - its lighter.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Heatsink

Pros: Does what it's suppose to do. I am using it on an AMD 3800 X2.

Cons: The blue light died after being covered in dust. I could careless about lights.

Other Thoughts: Cleaning this thing after a year sucked. Very hard to clean out. Make sure you blow it out once a month.

Pros: Man this thing rocks! Keeps my e7200 overclocked to 3.2gHz nice and stable. Looks great too, the LED is spiffy.

Cons: A little loud, but not offensive.

3 out of 5 eggsUhg

Pros: It's very quiet. Has a fan controller

Cons: It performs on par with my 5000 x2 (65w) stock heatsink.

Under stress, it hits 62 degrees, stock hit 60.

Other Thoughts: I didn't have to buy it, friend gave it to me.
