For those that want their processor to run as cool as it looks there is the Gigabyte 3D Rocket. Compatible with Pentium 4 LGA775/478 and AMD K8 platform processors, the 3D Rocket's side-fin intake fan duct design channels airflow to cool both the CPU and the motherboard at the same time, giving you more cool for your cash.

A series of four copper pipes draws heat up away from the base and disperses it throughout the high-density cylindrical fin assembly, reducing the amount of heat headed to any one area of the cooler. A turbine-like fan spins in the core of the fins blowing heated air away from your components, while a shield redirects cooler air coming from the fan's sides to the components around the CPU. An intelligent fan speed control module lets you run the fan from 2,500rpm up to a high-performance 4,000rpm for when your processor is under heavy load.

Brilliant blue LEDs add a splash of color to your case interior. All the necessary clips and bolts are included for attaching the unit to your motherboard. No tools are needed to install it, either. WIth ease of installation, control and operation, this is as cool as it gets.

5 out of 5 eggsBad Girl

Pros: This bad girl kept my CPU cool. I have a dual core up in that rig from 04-05 (the battle years).

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsBig, Pretty, & It Works.

Pros: It not only does it's job well, but looks good doing it. My OC'd Athlon64 thinks it lives in the refrigerator.

Cons: Not really any on this product. Ordered it with an Ultra X-Connect power supply, which promptly blew up. Newegg wouldn't help me out on it, other than referring me to Ultra, who promptly referred me back to Newegg, who then said they couldn't do anything about it....again......shame. 5 stars for cooler, 2 for Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Cooler isn't actually HARD to put practically falls into place. Once you look at the bottom & figure out which direction it goes in.

Also interesting in that 2 or 3 pieces can be removed to experiment around with what works best for you. The stock config did the job for me, so I didn't change it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: It cools it better then stock. you can do some ocing. E6400 @ 3.5ghz pretty good.

Cons: REALLY LOUD. Would expect it to be BELOW 59 C for a 30 dollar fan.

Other Thoughts: WEll i bought it a year ago. hehe maybe time for a different fan!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks cool, Cools better than stock heatsink on C2D E6420, fan speed control included.

Cons: Big and heavy. A little load at full speed but with all the other loud fans I have it doesn't make much difference.

Other Thoughts: Lowered the temp on my E6420 @ 3.16GHz from 36C @ idle to 30C and max temps went down from 77C to 64C

2 out of 5 eggsOk, but not great.

Pros: It does cool better than the stock Athalon64 939 3500+ type heatsinks. (the ones with no heatpipes)

Cons: Barely kept my FX-55 cool enough. At load it was within 2 deg of max temp.
Sounds like a leaf-blower!!! Kept other people awake at night.
It's Huge.
The blue lights are too bright.
Wiring is stupid.

Other Thoughts: Bought it in a pinch because I got a OEM FX-55 with no heatsink. Ran it for about a year. Just replaced it with the stock heatsink of a AM2 6000+ (with heatpipes) now I'm running 6-8 deg cooler! And it cost me less than this one!
Don't buy this if you have a hot cpu like an FX.

4 out of 5 eggscool is the word

Pros: This baby keeps my conroe 6850 CPU under 25 degrees celcius even at the most extreme gaming limits. Quiet (though my other five case fans likely are drowning out its noise) and pretty (blue LED's).

Cons: instruction manual is useless. Looked online at forums where other's shared their installation problems. Once I figured it out, locked into place without a hitch (though the force needed to do this for a first time builder was very nerve racking).

5 out of 5 eggsIt's big.

Pros: Looks great, copper heatpipes, blue LEDs, big fan, moves a lot of air, and blows on the MB, too. Includes speed controller, I put mine in the expansion slot bracket, had to clip a standoff on the potentiometer with flush-cutters. Cools an OC'ed x2 4000+ just fine.

Cons: Noticeable when run full-bore. Heavy? Really, really large if you are not used to the size of modern non-stock coolers. almost 4 1/2 inches tall. About the diameter of a very large coffee mug, almost 4 inches.

Other Thoughts: This thing is great, and I couldn't get everything I wanted for the $20 mark, had to spend more and glad I did.

4 out of 5 eggsEhh

Pros: -Super Cool
-High CFM
-Low dB

Cons: -Doesn't fit in ASUS A7N8X-X Socket A board
-Hard to install because there are different clips for the different processor sockets it supports. The clips don't really stay put.

Other Thoughts: After I found that it didn't fit on my mobo, I decided to plug it in and just run the fan to see how it was, It was practically silent.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Dropped temp 20 deg. Looks good inside the case.

Cons: Large size. My fan controller will not run this.

Other Thoughts: Not the loudest or the most quiet.

4 out of 5 eggsworks fine

Pros: easy installation, cools fine than the zalman it replaces. But the old one could just be too dirty to clean.

Cons: instruction manual is hard to read. In my case, I have to figure out which parts are for my CPU, after that it's easy though.

Other Thoughts: how much it costs to print a good manual? I just don't get it.
