The Gigabyte G-Power eats heat from your processor and blasts it away with a bit of flash. The cooler assembly is made from nickel-plated copper for superior heat dissipation and cool chrome looks. The base is connected to four heat pipes that draw excess heat away from the base and direct it through a dense array of fins.
The powerful 110mm fan is lit with four blue LEDs adding a splash of color to the inside of your desktop and its vortex design funnels air up and out to cool surrounding components.
A specially designed mounting kit lets you attach the cooler to almost any motherboard. It's made to work with Intel Pentium 4, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo as well as AMD Socket 754 and 939 processors.

- Comments: In my opinion, this G-Power has one of the best price/performance ratios out there. It's a very good deal for what you get.
It's not hard to see that this is a well designed product. The heatsink part of the G-Power bears a striking resemblence to Thermalright's popular XP-90 heatsink, a cooling product that has been recommended by countless people for its ability to do a good job for a good price. But in comparisons between the G-Power and the XP-90, Gigabyte's product has been shown to be overall just a bit more effective.
Consider also that the blue LED 110mm fan (that's not a typo - it's 110mm, not 120mm) that it comes with has slits in the sides so that it blows cool air in all directions which can help to cool nearby components like the RAM and MOSFETS. The fan's omnidirectional design can work very well with heatpipe northbridge coolers such as the ones on the Abit AN8-Ultra and ASUS A8n-Sli Premium.
Consider also that many heatpipe CPU coolers out there require you to buy a fan. Getting a good quality fan can be very expensive, but Gigabyte throws in an exceptional one for free so you're definitely getting your money's worth. And for you silence enthusiasts out there who suspect that the stock cooling sounds like a jet taking off, one particular review pegged the G-Power's noise at a respectable 24 decibels so it definitely won't split your eardrums.
Having said all that, I think this is a great product you should definitely consider either the G-Power or the G-Power Pro, the difference between the two being that the Pro includes a 3.5" bay fan controller that can be used to manually adjust the fan's speed. Pick one of these up...you won't be disappointed.
Pretty nice
- Pros: Sexy, blue, and spinny--nice and big. Haven't actually field tested it yet, and it's going in a brand new system, so I can't say much about performance increases, but I have no reason to expect that it won't work well
- Cons: Manual is lame lame lame--tiny black and white pictures are hard to interpret, and the instructions aren't much better...does NOT work well with socket AM2, or at least not with my Foxconn C51XEM2AA board--the three clips provided are for either a P4, a K8 939, or a K7 socket--only the K8 works with AM2, but only with a little jury-rigging. Disappointing, and frustrating after doing research to make sure this would work with AM2 and then discovering upon opening the box that it really doesn't...
- Other Thoughts: This really is a good heatsink/fan, but don't get it if you are using a socket AM2 mobo/cpu

Just for looks
- Pros: Preeeeetty blue lights, moves a lot of air. Comes with mounting kits for various types of processors. In-line speed adapter
- Cons: Only 3 pin power connector, huuuuuuuuuuuge, and a pain to install. Wasn't any quieter than the stock HSF (was supposed to be), so I sent it back as defective. Not sure if thats an error in labeling or if mine was broken.
Blue and cool for my P4 3.0GHz
- Pros: Looks cool and cools well. CPU temp is about 48C even while encoding video as I type this review. The fan housing is connected to the heatsink by four corner clips. When I clean out the inside of my case periodically, it is hella handy just to snap the cooler off CAREFULLY and clean up and snap right back on. Have had this product on my CPU for 2 years now and not one hitch at all.
- Cons: Not the absolute best cooler at the time of purchase, but it was a good balance of cooling power and price.
- Other Thoughts: I connected a DIY fan controller onto the power cable on the fan. My point is that if you have ANY fan controller set to the minimum setting at system startup, the fan may not spin and you could have a potential CPU burnin' escapade. Someone else installed it for me so I can't comment on that part.
- Pros: Not the best, but it works well and is quiet as hell. Keeps my X2 3200+ at 60C, at summer in AZ
- Cons: Uses little plastic clips to hold the fan on, they're hard to get off/on and brake kind easy
