Upgrade from the stock CPU cooler that came with your desktop or server. The MASSCOOL 5R057B3 heatsink and fan assembly is designed to affordably lower the operating temperature of your processors, from AMD Athlon MP up to 1800+, Athlon XP up to 1800+ and Duron up to 1.6GHz and Intel Celeron up to 1.0GHz and Pentium III up to 1.4GHz.
The base and high-density fin array are made of pure copper to draw heat from your CPU, quickly spreading heat out to be carried away by the 4,800rpm 60mm fan mounted at the top of the assembly. Its low profile allows it to fit in tighter spaces such as slimline cases or rackmount servers.
A thermal-grease pad is already applied to the copper base; simply remove the cover from the pad, clip the cooler to your motherboard and connect the 3-pin power cord to your mainboard.

better then some massive coolers, in a small package!
- Comments: I am a computer hardware technician / IT expert of more then 16 years experience.
I bought this heatsink-fan unit to custom-mount to my ATI radeon 9800 pro. When I got it I put it on a normal processor, and was floored by how quiet it was, while being so small, and yet being able to cool so well. You can't get this quiet & cool without some serious price increases. I also know speeze/masscool to put very long lasting fans in their coolers, which is a huge thumbs up. After some fumbling with a drill bit and finding the right size/depth of screws, I fenagled a custom mount for this device, and it cooled my 9800 pro so well I was able to take the core to what only others with watercooling could do. I just got some ramsinks for the ram, and the vidcard was well beyond 9800xt speeds without the xt mod. I am very impressed! I have since bought two more.
Works great
- Comments: I was a bit concerned that this wouldn't be enough of a heatsink for an Athlon XP 2400+, but I went with the Thunderbird core for a bit more CPU surface to work with. As it turns out, I could have used a full-size heatsink/fan in the Enlight 7472 MicroATX case. Nice, small and quiet.
After a few weeks, not a single problem. This fan & heatsink seem is doing the job just fine. It appears that they're using Arctic Silver for the thermal compound, which saved me the trouble of doing it myself.
Another excellent product available on NewEgg is the Speeze FalconRock 5F286B.
Highly recommended product. I wish NewEgg would offer quantity price breaks on shipping, but still a good deal for the money.

Died after 9 months
- Pros: Cheap, you get what you pay for.
- Cons: Only lasted 9 months.
- Other Thoughts: Spend a little more $ and get a better fan.
- Pros: none
- Cons: Died after one month
- Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.
works for old Athlon xp1800
- Pros: heavy copper heatsink, compound pre applied, reasonably quiet, affordable, low profile
- Cons: so far so good
- Other Thoughts: good value. If the fan ever quits maybe keep the heatsink and replace the fan..
