2 out of 5 eggsA Huge pain

Pros: This cooler looks nice sitting on my shelf.

Cons: This cooler is wretched to install. The plastic push pins are garbage and the design is such that it's just darn near impossible to get the cooler installed on an Asus p5k-deluxe in an Antec solo case. I HATE to give up, but I gave up on this thing. Now it sits on a shelf, looking cool but not actually cooling anything.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Keeps your CPU cool. e6700@3.8Ghz runs at 57C/59C while folding.

Cons: VERY tall. I have a Thermaltake Armor case, and I had to modify the 25cm fan on the side door to make this fit. If they had used smaller nuts on the top of the cooler, it wouldn't be an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat OC option

Pros: Keeps my Q6600 at 40c 38c 39c 41c running at 3.6 1.368v 400x9 ambient ~75F. Fit on a P43 and a 680i.

Cons: Doesn't come with 2 fans and/or the metal to hang a 2nd fan. Installation isn't a 'dream' per say, but overall its not that bad if you install it on your mobo before you screw the mobo in the case.

Other Thoughts: Gets great reviews but I'm sure its just as good as the 9700 and 120 that everyone seems to rave about. I read a review somewhere that this cooler is one of the best out there if you lap it and run it with a 2x120mm fan setup.

5 out of 5 eggsWith 2 fans installed, definitely the best!!!

Pros: You can retrofit 2 better fans to this thing and get much better performance. I used 2x 152cfm delta fans myself. But either way, this thing rocks! Especially for the price!

Cons: No adapter for two fans. I had to get creative. It's a minor complaint though, so I still gave it 5 eggs!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Alt. to more expensive coolers

Pros: Does what it says. Looks nice, well built, and no need to remove mobo.

Cons: Very large and 754/939/AM2 clips don't allow more than one position.

Other Thoughts: Brought my athlon64 3400 from 42c to 38c. It is so large I cannot use the optimum fan position in my case even though it is a large full tower. Still I think it is a much cheaper alternative to the thermalright 120 I was originally going to purchase. I doubt the 120 would perform much better and plus I would have to purchase a fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Heatsink is very large, promotes great airflow in my case (Antec 900). Installed and dropped temps 20 degrees idle and full load running on AMD Athalon 64 X2 6400+ retail. before was idle 40/42 - full load was 60/65 now 20 idle and 37 full load major improvement

Cons: like i said heatsink is huge, it completely covers 1 and 1/2 sticks of ram no worries, on the heat spreader. also wouldnt keep me from buying another for another build. i also had to mount the fan blowing down from the top, unable to close case with side fan installed

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent cooler!

Pros: Excellent cooler. Keeps my Q9300 @ 3.5 below 55*C at all times. Idle temps ate mid 40's. Currently the fan configuration isnt perfect, but I dont have many options, as this is mounted on an mATX board (DFI LP JR P45-T2RS) inside of an mATX case (Coolermaster Centurion 541).

Cons: The mounting system is nice. I like the fact that you dont have to remove the motherboard to get the heatsink off, but due to the size of this heatsink it's very difficult to get to the push pins. Even though the heat sink is mounted, it flexes alot. Also, the finish on the base is very bad, i dropped 10*C once i went over the base with 2000 grit paper, because it had the beginnings of corrosion on the bottom.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I think 4 more things need to be included with this heatsink:
1 more 120mm fan clip set
2 80mm fan clips
and a better mounting system for socket 775

5 out of 5 eggsGot 3 now

Pros: It's the most efficient cooler I've ever used--and I've gone through a lot of coolers in 11 years of system building. It keeps my cpu about 2-3 degrees above room temp. Doesn't seem to matter which cpu--PentD 3.4, Wolfdale E8400, Q6600, or mobo--Asus P5Q Pro, Asus Rampage, or Asus P5WDG2 Workstation, Intel D945GPM...all are within a few degrees of my computer room's ambient temp. Full load/gaming temps go up about 8 degrees over room temp.

Cons: The base on the new ones isn't finished as nicely as the old ones, but it doesn't seem to matter on performance.

Other Thoughts: While I don't use extra case fans, I do use the existing ones to my advantage. Mount the fan on the "front" side of the cooler, so air blows out towards the back. (the most obvious position)If you have a 120mm case fan, line this up with it the best you can. Like a turbine, inline is much more efficient than two fans offset by a couple inches. My fan isn't positioned perfectly on cooler, but rather located about a half inch towards the side door to help line up with the rear fan better. BTW--I'm using AS Ceramique for the thermal compound, and I'm not skimpy with the stuff either.

5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: Wide compatibility with pretty much every CPU socket type that would need extreme amounts of cooling. Well built and designed, different ways to mount/aim fan provides different airflow routing options. Above all else: EFFECTIVE! (see other thoughts for temp results)

Cons: I guess the size could be an issue for some people with smaller cases, but the big size/surface area of the heatsink is what makes this cooler work as well as it does, so that can hardly be counted as a con. The stock fan is a bit weak... i don't really think a lot of people that buy this care about low noise as much as low temps. I know I don't, so I mounted a TT fan that moves a bit more air. Just an awesome cooler

Other Thoughts: on my AMD X2 5200+ (2.6ghz, 1.35v stock)

stock cooler: 43C idle 67C max load (this is at 1.4v)

w/ this cooler: 32C idle 48C max load (same voltages)

(OCed to 2.88ghz, 1.45v)

34C idle, 50C max load

(OCed to 3ghz, 1.45v)

36C idle, 51C max load

I'm still pushing th eOC further. I'm running stress tests as I type this. The Thermal compound hasn't had much time to settle in since I just got this installed about and hour ago, already I'm very happy with this purchase.

Oh, and if your system won't post with this cooler installed, just plug in your stock cooler and get into the BIOS real quick and disable your cpu fan control/alarms and it should work.
