Pretty But Bad
- Pros: Pretty Design Nice Fan Controllr Included Long Screw Driver
- Cons: Dual AMD Opteron 240 and it over heated from 1 month ~ replacement after about 6 months i replaced with a Thermaltake Venus 12
Sigh.... It had potential... I think
- Pros: This cooler has an interesting design that I believe has great cooling potential.
- Cons: Poor quality workmanship. Lack of proper hardware.
- Other Thoughts: Bought this cooler looking to cool my socket 939 Opty 175. Like others I have read the included socket939 mounting screws had no chance of working. I decided to see what it would do on a socket A board instead of returning it... big mistake. I don't believe it ever made contact with the CPU. Temps super high and the 2400+ mobile barton would reboot even at 800Mhz. Upon closer inspection it appeared that the thermal compound was barely in contact with the cooler let alone a good matchup. When trying to remount it one one the mounting screws broke.
Thank goodness newegg rocks and gave a full refund!
- Pros: Hasn't broken yet, looks cool, kinda
- Cons: This thing is HUGE, it's fan is about 1mm from my power supply's so the hot air gets pumped from one to the other which isn't ideal, though the sink seems to dissipate it enough.
The sticker just won't stick at all, and it's a pretty cool sticker so that's a shame
- Other Thoughts: I have the Asus ASN-E and it works but if you have the SLI version of this board I don't think it would work. This is a VERY heavy cooler, in fact the instructions recommend that you move it as little as possible to avoid snapping your mobo in half, which is good advice.
