Look before you leap!
- Pros: This basic package is fine for most users. Although it doesn't contain Powerpoint, most useres won't miss it. (see other thoughts for more on this). Has Word, Excel and Outlook. 2003 has a new, improved polished look and feel. A great improvement even over Office XP.
- Cons: Can't create Powerpoint presentations, if that's important to you. (see other thoughts)
- Other Thoughts: If you are a student, or there is a student in your household, check Google for the Teacher/Student Standard version of Office 2003. It HAS Powerpoint, too. It's also half the OEM price! And, you can install the Teacher and Student version on 3 PC's! About Powerpoint: if all you need really, is to open and view Powerpoint presentations, go to Microsoft.com and download the Powerpoint Viewer (free).
Everything you need for home use
- Pros: The majority of MS Office home users use Outlook and Word and nothing else. Excel is handy for those of us who need to crunch some numbers. The price is hard to beat considering the funtionality of this package.
- Cons: No MS Access or PowerPoint. You'll need (minimum) Office Standard for PowerPoint and (minimum) Small Business Edition for Access.

- Pros: We build many PCs & this has what basic (most) users need... Just do your best to know figured out what you want. A good guide is found on Microsoft's site - see Other Thoughts.
- Cons: No cons except the normal MS problems.
- Other Thoughts: Go to a well know search engine such as G00GLE and run a search for "What's in the Office 2003 Editions?" (keep the quotes in there too!) and the 1st listing is normally the correct one!
