after all theses years
- Pros: I had never had my own COA till the day I got this in the mail lol! however I do sleep better at night now that I have genuine windows on my pc;)
- Cons: the price
- Other Thoughts: it apears to run faster than my COPY of XP professional...
XP Pro pwns XP Home
- Comments: There's nothing worse than going to fix someones machine and finding they have XP Home Edition.
For one thing XP Home has no modifyable group policy, and no ability to connect to domains. In other words - buy xp pro, not home. If you get a killer virus, you'll be glad you had the software restriction capabilities found in windows XP Pro.
Installed on new computer.
- Comments: Bought this product new at a computer fair. I have been using home XP since the first year of its release, and XP Pro at work. I don't see any significant difference, but many PC geeks recommend it above the Home version.
I initially installed Linspire OS on my new computer but it did not work with my 12-year old IBM PS/1 monitor. I could not get Linspire off of my HD, so I bought XP Pro and it installed on top of Linspire (whew!). The old monitor then worked fine.
