WYSIWYG
- Pros: Good stable platform - running XP Home on 5 computers for past 5 years - no real problems noted with the OS. It has worked well with every hardware configuration I've thrown at it.
- Cons: In a word... "Microsoft". Their eula is totally for their benefit - the customer is always last. Have had many go-rounds with them over XP activation and hardware changes. They say there's a difference between retail and OEM. I have both and have found no difference in support or activation. The rating would be a five, if I didn't have to deal with Microsoft.
- Other Thoughts: Keep in mind the Vista coupon is only an upgrade, which requires that XP already be installed on the PC. The upgrade is not a separate, stand-alone OS. Don't know why anyone would want to take a stable OS like XP and downgrade it to a buggy OS like Vista.

- Pros: Ver nice, easy to use for the new beginner with many features for experienced users. Would recomend this over windows VISTA.

- Other Thoughts: I have used windows vista and XP, would get XP over vista for the fact that it is much faster, easier to use, and is compatable with everything on the market. (prier to and after vistas release)

Easy install.
- Cons: took 2 hours to install
Better than Vista
- Pros: -Still better than Vista.
- Cons: -To much money considering it's age.
- Other Thoughts: BOOOOO VISTA!
XP is alive and well
- Pros: No problems during installation and have been using it for about a month with no issues at all. Seems like a fast OS with much lower hardware requirements compared to Vista, although the computer I built is brand new, so it may be a moot point. I don't know.

- Other Thoughts: I was too scared to take my chances with Vista based on all the bad things I've heard about compatability, resource hogging and slowness. I'm not sure if Vista could play older games such as Myst, Riven, or any other game in the Myst series, therefore, I decided to be conservative and go with the older OS, which is XP.
